  1. Hi everyone, Well I have my test results: Fecal Anti-gliadin IgA: 44 Units Fecal Anti-tissue Transglutaminase IgA: 20 Units Quantitative Microscopic Fecal Fat Score: Less than 300 Units Fecal Anti-casein (cow
  2. Hi there. I just wanted to add to this thread... I too have that wierd pain on the left side under my ribs. In fact that is the first symptom that eventually made me go to the doctor about a year ago. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to get a doctor to take it all seriously and help me find a diagnosis. Good luck to you all!
  3. Hi cvll, It looks like your post fell through the cracks here. Sorry you didn't get any replies at all!!! That's frustrating. I don't know if you'll read this at all but I wanted to say that your symptoms seem to be celiac. I have not been diagnosed but from what I've read it seems like it could be celiac. I personally think that the blood tests can come...
  4. I haven't been diagnosed yet as Celiac but I think I have it, and am trying to figure it out. I just wanted to say that I had an endoscopy done less than a year ago, where they found inflammation of the duodendum and gastritis type C (no Heliopactor), (they did not do a celiac biopsy as far as I know) the GI actually said it is due to something I'm ingesting...
  5. An IgA was NOT done. I don't think there are many doctors out there who take this celiac disease seriously, could I be right?? With my endoscopy they wrote on my results that it was unlikely my inflammation was due to an intolerance, yet they did not do a biopsy. Even if they did do one, however, wouldn't it be possible that my intestines have not yet been...
  6. HI everyone, Thank you so much for your replies!! I actually had tried the gluten-free diet a while ago and it really really helped. Most of my symptoms disappeared. I was diagnosed as being zinc deficient, but I'm not sure about anything else... I don't have a colonoscopy scheduled yet but I plan to call this week... Right now I am sitting here...
  7. Hi everyone, I've posted before. It's been a while. I have had a few tests done and after no diagnosis of anything except for various doctors saying "you definitely have some kind of allergy or intolerance...", nothing has come of them. Then I stopped going to doctors. But now, I have to start again because I just cannot stand to live like this anymore....
  8. No they are still just testing for food allergies. I guess we'll move on to that after the initial tests...?
  9. Hi again, I was just wondering... I went gluten-free (I think I was totally gluten free but not 100% sure) for about 2 weeks. Then I started eating gluten again because I wanted to get tested. That was about one month to 1.5 months ago, I guess. Is this enough time? I was only gluten free for a short while, so I would think that would be ok. What do you...
  10. Hi everyone, I am in the process of being tested for celiac/gluten intolerance. I've been trying to eat a lot of bread (gluten) in preparation for my tests. For the past week at least I have been feeling unbelievably tired all the time, regardless of how much I sleep. I feel dizzy when I stand up. I have been losing weight without trying at all. I feel...
  11. Hi there, I don't know the answer to your question but for what it's worth, I am currently testing for celiac (what a frustratingly slow and unclear process!) and I also happen to have high bilirubin levels. I wonder too whether the two are connected. I hope someone responds with some insight! Kerri
  12. Hi everyone, I've posted here before. I recently had an endoscopy done. Unfortunately, it was not to test for celiac, but rather just to see if there was anything else going on in there like cancer. Luckily everything was good except for mild gastritis. I've done a blood test IgE which showed that I definitely have a "food allergy". That was 650 when it...
  13. This thread is amazing me... I haven't been officially diagnosed but I think I have celiac. And I'm just realizing that my chronic cystitis I used to get might be related!?! That's crazy! I used to have really bad, chronic cystitis (I'm talking at least 2 times a month!). Thank goodness that has gone away a long time ago but I just wanted to post here....
  14. I have not been diagnosed and am still trying to figure out whether I have this or not, but I can tell you, come to Germany! LOL Germans tend to be generally much more careful about what they eat. I'm American, living in Germany, and I'm already scared about how my family (US) will react - I know they won't believe me. They'll think I'm just being a hypochondriac...
  15. You're right, really. I don't really need an "official" diagnosis since it is clear to me that my symptoms go on a gluten-free diet, and return after eating gluten. But you're also right that getting a diagnosis would help ensure someone - besides myself who has no medical qualifications - could be there to monitor my health, knowing that I have...
  16. Hi everyone, First of all, thank you all soooo much for all your thoughtful responses! I really appreciate it a lot. Particularly because it seems the medical world is oblivious to this condition! What's up with that??? I *think* I had an endoscopy exam done, but I'm having to translate from German because I live in Germany and everything they've...
  17. Hey all, I've posted before with my various pains and problems, and have meanwhile gotten an upper GI endoscopy. They found no cancer, nothing else organic. The doctor said she thinks it is definitely a food allergy/intolerance, etc., but doesn't think it is celiac. She supposedly looked the small intestine and said the little villi were all fine. This...
  18. Hi everyone, Well I have an appt to discuss getting an upper GI edoscopy next Tuesday with a specialist. So far, my family doc doesn't think it is Celiac. In fact, I think he thinks I'm just anxious! Today I've been having a wierd sensation in my neck. It's a very light burning sensation - almost like heartburn but not quite, and it is not in...
  19. Thanks to both of your responses! I know it is a very bad disease, I'm just hoping it's not a deadly disease I have, such as cancer. I'm glad that someone else has had those lumps appear. I too am quite thin, and I'm sure my abdominal wall is a bit stretched out, which might make those lumps more visible. I also can see my pulse in my abdomen. I'm going...
  20. just bumping this up because I can't seem to find my post in the board!
  21. Hi everyone, I'm new to this board. I have been experiencing wierd symptoms for over a year now. Let me list them, however, who knows if the symptoms are related. I think it might be Celiac but I'm terrified I might have some horrible deadly disease. I hope you all can help me! My doctor will be doing an endoscopy but I am so anxious I can't wait - I hope...
