About Me

I am a 42 year old married woman working from home 25 hours a week as a database programmer. My husband is a pastor and consultant. We have two dogs - Mojo and Pepper.

Roughly 7 years ago (2002) I got sick. Up until then I had had some hormonal problems but that was about it. It's a long story but now, 6 1/2 years later, I have food intolerances, abdominal distention 24/7, fatigue, hormonal imbalance, and a host of other symptoms. No doctor has been able to tell me what exactly is causing it. The best guess is that it's from serious gut dysbiosis. January 1st I am starting a 7-day liver/bowel cleanse and will start the SCD immediately after. I hope and pray this will help me to feel better.

  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Dawn, I have one of those crystals and I like it. I can't tell a difference in sweat/BO with that one or regular deodorant. Also, I make my own lotions, salt scrubs, body butter, and eye cream for that very reason. Not so much SCD, but just trying to get rid of chemicals and xenoestrogens. I started making them back in 2003 I think. I use shea butter,...
  3. Ali, That sounds scary. Are you feeling better today?
  4. Cabbage is legal unless it still gives you D and gas according to the legal/illegal list. Some carbs are allowed because they have monosaccharides (one molecule sugars) while other carbs, the ones that are not allowed have disaccharides (two molecules - like lactose), and polysaccharides (many molecules - like starch and cellulose). The premise of the...
  5. Hi Ali, It is hard isn't it? And natural healing takes a while. The reason I am wondering if my abdominal distention is due to hormonal imbalance is because that's what I used to get during PMS before the hysterectomy. Towards the end, before I had the surgery, I had 25 to 45 day cycles I think and always 12 to 14 days PMS. I had various symptoms that...
  6. Well, I feel like I went through a 24 hour bug in 10 hours. LOL I feel better this morning, not really any nausea, but very weak and dizzy when I stand too long. No wonder after a phlebotomy, throwing up, and then not being able to drink anything yesterday. My temp went up to 101.5 then slowly went back down. I slept horribly since I could not take my magnesium...
  7. Alib - are you in the uk or germany? the bug got worse. i couldn't even keep water down. my husband is a firefighter an was taking one of the trucks to get refueled with one of the paramedics. apparently they've been giving people IVs with zophran. i'm a wimp. in the past i would have just dealt with it and let it run its course but the last 1 1/2 years...
  8. AliB, Dawn - Bee has articles on adrenal fatigue but I don't think she addresses it enough. And she claims that her diet will heal ANY illness, not just candida. When I posted that her diet would not have cured my high iron levels she put me on moderation for a month and didn't let the post go through. She is very much against taking amino acids but without...
  9. Bee has some interesting articles and thoughts. Overall it's a good program. What I don't like is that she will tell you that HER program is THE only way to heal from any illness and you have to follow it 100% including the daily egg drink, the electrolyte drink and supplements. Healing will only begin if you take all her supps and follow her diet. Any time...
  10. Dawn and AliB - thanks for posting. Great points and I will look at the link you provided later Dawn. It's interesting that you bring up candida since I just read a report on it from Dr. Mercola. You can see it here Open Original Shared Link. One of the symptoms he lists with systemic candida is 'tremendous fluid retention to try to dilute the toxins'. I...
  11. Hi Dawn, Thanks for the encouragement and yes, it IS frustrating. I think if a patient came to me complaining of 28 days non-stop abdominal distention I would show a little more compassion. I am still angry about the comment she made that 'fluid retention doesn't work that way'. At this point I am wondering if I should skip the stool test and the...
  12. Does anybody if nitrates are allowed? I know they are not healthy but from an SCD standpoint, are they ok? I have sugar free bacon but it has sodium phospahtes, sodium erythobate, and sodium nitrite.
  13. ShayFL, ArtGirl - thank you for the replies. I am more and more skeptic about this. Maybe I'll just fork out the money for the stool test to see if there ARE parasites or if there IS bacterial overgrowth. If not then I'll know that something else is going on. Kristina
  14. I am going to call today and find out more about the iridology. If they just tell you which organs are not functioning properly I may still do the stool test. I really would like to know if what I am experiencing is from gut dysbiosis and the stool test would tell me if things have gotten worse or better since I had a similar one done in April this year....
