  1. Yes, I'm aware that he has not pursued publications in journals, for whatever reason. I knew that going in-- I think I'm just curious if there is perhaps many, many more people with a minor response to gluten that would show up in their stool that might never, ever be strong enough to show up in a serum test. In other words-- does this low level of response...
  2. Yes, there is still a time limit with the gluten-consumption, but theirs supposedly is still the most sensitive. We had been eating gluten and casein for about 3 months (after being off for a year and a half) before taking this, because we also had other tests done. We all had traditional blood serum testing for celiac (the whole panel), which came back...
  3. I just got back our results from Enterolab, and me and both kids came back positive, for gliaden, for tTg, for casein, for genes. We had slightly different numbers, but all positive. So my husband, the skeptic, immediately asks, "What if they tell EVERYONE they are positive?" I had gotten a positive saliva test from Diagnos-Techs, but my eldest child's...
  4. Man, I wish I would have checked here before I ordered our tests from Optimum. They still haven't arrived. I got emails and even a tracking number, but that number didn't pan out with any postal service. To me, this is more than poor customer service. THIS IS A SCAM. Do I contact the Better Business Bureau in MY state (Texas) or in the state where...
  5. Which one do I believe? Saliva was IgA positive for gliaden with very high numbers. Then I got the blood test done to confirm, and IgA, IgG gliaden were both negative, as were the TtG and my total IgA was normal. My doctor still wants to do the endosocopy and colonoscopy... I'm just really confused. Is blood or saliva test more reliable? Thanks for...
  6. Question: Can a person react to gluten with behavioral changes if they have only an IgG response to it? In other words, if they have a negative IgA, negative TtG, very low IgE response, but definitely had a strong response to gluten in the past...could IgG still be worth testing? Longer story behind the question: My daughter had a strong reaction to...
  7. I went to a gastroenterologist today and it was a horrible experience. I went specifically to get him to do the full celiac panel that I've seen listed here. He said, "We only do TtG and IgA-- if you have celiac, it will definitely show up from those." Is that true? I'm not sure I trust him, based on his other advice.
  8. Yes, it does, thanks. I'll take that list with me tomorrow when I see the doctor. I've been enjoying lots of gluten, realizing that it will probably be coming to an end soon. Thanks for such a great support network here!
  9. Hi! I'm new here...I'm not new to the gluten-free diet because my four and a half year old started on it right before her third birthday, as a way to try to help her sleep. She had received a diagnosis of high functioning autism. The diet worked wonders (casein free, too) and now people would never guess she had that diagnosis. I was on the diet for about...
