ARCHIVED Brands That Disclose Gluten Containing Ingredients?
hadabaday2day posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I know that Kraft and Oscar Mayer clearly disclose gluten. What other brands do this? I wish kraft made everything! Also I was wondering about natural flavors. I know that they may contain gluten and I should call the manufacturer and verify the source, but if we are advised to read labels every time we purchase something because ingredients can change... -
ARCHIVED Need Help Interpreting Results
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi there. I just recently had a thyroid test done because my mom has Hashimoto's. So I have it checked yearly. That was normal. Most of the other things you mentioned I am sure would have gotten much worse over the last 4 years. Except maybe Sjorgen's. I have had someone on here tell me before that I may have that. I am always dehydrated. I mean my fingers... -
ARCHIVED Need Help Interpreting Results
hadabaday2day posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
So I finally got the paperwork back from my old doctor who missed my diagnosis of Celiac disease. Seems that there is no biopsy here of my DH even though I know I had one done. Which kinda screws up being able to get a dx without a intestinal biopsy, but oh well. So my Antigliadin IgA is 18 which is negative Antigliadin IgG is 30 which is positive tTG... -
ARCHIVED Misdiagnosed-legal Recourse?
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
caek- It's so true. I am defiant now. Since I've had my kids anyway. I usually tell the dr. what is wrong with them instead of the other way around and I have yet to be wrong. I wish I was like that when I was younger, but I hadn't had that many bad experiences yet. That is why what Colorado said frustrated me. If none of this had happened then I would probably... -
ARCHIVED Misdiagnosed-legal Recourse?
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
First I would like to say that I was 22 at the time. I had no idea how to be proactive with my healthcare (which I am now) and I was raised to listen to doctors. My GP did not diagnose me Celiac. She said that in order to be diagnosed, I would need to see a GI doctor. I am not leaving anything out of that visit. I was in the room with the GI doc for... -
ARCHIVED Misdiagnosed-legal Recourse?
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know, I know. I'm an idiot. I have the worst memory on the face of the planet. It was in fact an actual biopsy. Really I just remembered that they did something to check my skin. My memory can be very vague. I didn't remember what exactly they did or what the results were until I called them to verify. So, it was a biopsy and it was positive. Sorry for... -
ARCHIVED Misdiagnosed-legal Recourse?
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you for all your responses. I haven't told the G.I. doctor anything yet, so I will request a copy of my records and have already requested a copy from my G.P. I don't know if I have the energy to file a claim that nobody would be likely to back me on, but I will certainly make them squirm all I can. And great idea about contacting the media! Not only... -
Hi there. I am new here and newly diagnosed...sort of. I just recently disgnosed myself when I found out that I should have been dignosed 4 years ago. 4 years ago I went to the doctor because I had a horrible itchy burning rash. My doctor couldn't pinpoint it at first, but after she dragged in 2 more docs and a medical dictionary they decided it was D...

ARCHIVED Can Anyone Reccomend A Doctor In Washington State?
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Doctors
Bonney Lake. Pierce County -
Or perhaps even a naturopath that is familiar with Celiac. Someone who will listen. Also are there any good food counselor or dietician with this experience. I want to make sure that I and especially my kids are getting proper nutrition. I also need to follow up on my diagnosis with tests on the rest of my body to see what damage I've done. Thanks for any...

ARCHIVED Keratosis Pilaris
hadabaday2day replied to missmommy's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I am very new here, but I can tell you what I have experienced with my son. I have celiac disease and both my kids have tested negative. I am positive that my son has it anyways and he will be going gluten free. He has had eczema since he was a tiny baby. He doesn't get too many dry patches (which would be typical of eczema), he gets small bumps all over... -
ARCHIVED Daughter's Test Negative- What Would You Do?
hadabaday2day posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I have Celiac Disease and just had both my kids tested. Both tests for my 7 year old daughter and my 2 1/2 year old son came back negative. They both had an IgA and IgG test. I am fairly ceratin with all of my son's symptoms that he does in fact have it or possibly dairy allergies. He will be doing an allergy panel soon and I will be completely removing gluten... -
ARCHIVED Going Gluten Free. Need Help With Kitchen Ideas
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for your reply. It's nice to know I'm not the only one dealing with this. My sons doctors never suggested that his eczema was caused by anythin, but I knew it was and had allergy blood work done when he was 1 year. It all came back negative, but I don't know exactly how many things they tested for. I know it is something and I am putting my money on... -
ARCHIVED Going Gluten Free. Need Help With Kitchen Ideas
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you so much for the in depth answers. You post is very helpful. I noticed that you figured out the cause of your son's eczema to be wheat. I am hoping that my son's will get better once we start this diet too. The doctor's never even suggested to me that his eczema was caused by something. They would rather just treat it wouldn't they? Thanks again... -
ARCHIVED Going Gluten Free. Need Help With Kitchen Ideas
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you. It really does help. It makes me feel better to know that if you can do it in a mixed food household, then I should be able to pull it off in a totally gluten free one. Maybe I will even allow my husband to keep some bread in the house....maybe. Alia -
ARCHIVED Going Gluten Free. Need Help With Kitchen Ideas
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks Welda! I too am more focused on eating natural foods such as fruits, veggies, and meats. Having two small children I need som snack foods too and convenience foods. My sons test came back negative, but he just had an IgA and an IgG, so I am concerned that he has it anyway. Either that or he has a dairy intolerance. He has eczema pretty bad with what... -
ARCHIVED Going Gluten Free. Need Help With Kitchen Ideas
hadabaday2day posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there. I am going gluten free and I am freaking out that I am not going to do everything right. I have a pantry that I have had for years that has held bread and I was wondering if it's okay to use still. Should I just thouroughly clean it and line it with shelf paper? There is probably gluten in the adhesive on the shelf paper for all I know. What about... -
ARCHIVED Had My Kids Tested- Negative But Have Symptoms
hadabaday2day posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi. I am fairly new here. I have Celiac Disease and I had my kids tested last week. They just had a simple test done because I have no insurance and didn't have the money for a full panel. They had a TTG IgA and a TTG IgG. They both came back negative. My 7 year old daughter has random headaches and stomachaches. Other than that she seems okay. No digestive... -
ARCHIVED New Here And Have Quite A Few Questions.
hadabaday2day replied to hadabaday2day's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have a terrible memory but you are right, I think they did do a biopsy. I just remember she was going to take a sample of my tissue where I had the rash and I asked how bad it was going to hurt. So yes, I think it was in fact a biopsy. I have no blood test results to post as I don't have those medical records. They said my records are in storage so I'm... -
ARCHIVED New Here And Have Quite A Few Questions.
hadabaday2day posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi there. I am new here and I have many questions so please bear with me on what will no doubt be a long and disorganized post. 5 years ago I developed a nasty rash which took 3 doctors and a medical dictionary to figure out was Dermatitis Herpetiformis. They did a swab and that and it came back positive. Then they tested my blood and that came back positive...
