  1. I was diagnosed last August and have been gluten-free since. I have been very good about making sure I haven't eaten anything that has gluten. My symptoms have improved slightly, but not completely and my biggest concern is the recent bowel changes. I have never had diarrhea, not even prior to diagnosis, but now for the last month I have had a problem...
  2. That is very intersting about the thyroid. I don't have anything to worry about then because my T4 is fine. It's just the TSH. So I will not worry about the thyroid. And if I do see another doctor about the celiac I will check on the other blood test. But from all that I have read and seen I don't think I can any longer wish that I didn't have it. Thanks...
  3. Thank you. That makes me feel much more comfortable with the diagnosis.
  4. I don't believe I did have that one test. I will have to check on that. So the one test that was positive could be for something else also? The lab uses levels under 11 for guidelines on the IGA and IGG. So the 23 is a positive test. I am interested in finding what else could make that rise. And the TSH my lab shows the guideline being 3.0 and below...
  5. So here is what the results are on the tests I have had done. IGA 23 IGG 3 Tissue Transglutam AB IGA 3 The endoscope results states "biopsy shows entirely normal villous architecure with a mild increase in intraephelial lymphocytes noted at the tips of the villi. Although the findings are not specific, the possibility of latent celiac disease...
  6. The IGA blood test was positive. The biopsy stated that there is a mild increase in intraepithelial lymphocytes but that was not enough to either confirm nor deny the diagnosis. I also had low iron bonding and a mild increase in my thryroid level and SED rate which my doctor feels is indicitive of the cealiac disease. However he was wishy washy and felt...
  7. Although I was diagnosed in November with celiac I am still eating the gluten. Not because I want to torture myself but I am not confident with my doctor so I want another doctor to see my issues. But recently my symptoms have changed and I am wondering if maybe I don't have celiac after all. My symptoms have been 8 months of severe abdominal bloating...
  8. I have had an issue for years with the stool floating. I have been told by a few doctors that it is normal. At the same time when Randy Pausch was on Dateline he mentioned a telltale sign of pancreas issues is floating stools. i also have read that it is a sign of malabsorption. But the doctor did say they biggest issue is a change in consistency and...
  9. Lydia, These are important things to mention to your doctor and I would call him. I have asthma and my lips will turn blue along with my face becoming blotchy when during an attack. It is from the lack of oxygen. I do also know that your lips can turn blue when you are cold so perhaps there is another very innocent reason for that reaction your son...

    Thanks I'll check there.
  11. I have to say first I must know the secret ingredient for the ccokies because my sister-in-law (God bless her) cooked 3 batches trying to make cookies that resembled cookies. The taste was alright but the fact that they turned into sand upon contact and then when mixed with water it turned into mortar made me decide that cookies were just not in my future...

    ARCHIVED Doctor In Albany, Ny

I was looking for a good doctor in Albany, NY area if anyone knows of one. I have not had the best of luck with doctors and would love one that might, I don't know, take the time and really figure out what is going on. Thanks for the help. Nicole
  14. Thank you for all the help. Especially fiddle faddle who took five minutes to make sure the response was politically correct. I LOVE that. I have many responses myself for my doctor but thought maybe I was being fussy. I am going to try another doctor, hope I can find one, and see what his response is. Oh and to the person who asked me what my husbands...
  15. I will have to check more into the liver. Thank you. I checked on the pancreas thinking that could cause the stool issue also but they didn't seem to think that was a problem. Actually my doctor told me that the fact that my stool was almost white and floated was not an issue at all. So I will do some more research on the liver. Thank you. I didn...
  16. No they haven't checked the liver. why do you ask?
  17. I my symptoms became worse in June with the bloating. I went into the doctors in september and after all the tests that was in Novmeber. I was gluten free for 4 weeks when he was testing the theory, after the endoscope before the visit. Then when I returned the diet had helped some of the symptoms but not completely. He said to keep going gluten-free...
  18. Hi my name is Nicole. I have had many symptoms throughout my life and I have been told so many things along the way that I am leary of all doctors. I was told I have an ulcer.....the endoscope didn't find that. Then a few years later I was told I had gall stones and needed my gall bladder out. I didn't do that and surprise I don't have anything wrong with...
