  1. Thanks, janetw. I still haven't had the requested blood tests taken. Probably at the end of the week I'll have them drawn and then go to my appt. to see her. I haven't taken stayed true to following the celiac diet. I am such a sugar hog I feel ill if I do not eat any junk food. Can't get enough of the stuff.
  2. After gong through all sorts of blood tests, gut tests, etc. my GI doc said I do not have Celiacs but encouraged me to begin following a gluten free diet 'if it made me feel better'. So I started and almost immediately I began feeling so much better! I faithfully took my chelated Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc and also my vegetable digestive enzyme pill each...
  3. I love milk and dairy but have not eaten or drank much of it for a bit now. Trial and error has revealed that eating Kraft singles (or some other brand) results in nasty gas. I am on a cream cheese binge at the moment and have discovered the most delightful brand which is natural. No long unpronounciable names in the ingredient list. Just cream and...
  4. I am haven't bothered checking into the support group. The very day I was to meet the gastro doctor to get my biopsy results all the clerical staff went on strike! I pushed my appt. back a 3 weeks thinking the strike would be over by then. Nope. It is still on. Met with the Gastro doc Wednesday of this week, she said everything looks good and I...
  5. That's OK. I am only a Magician! LOL My number one complaint is the endless gas whether or not I eat anything. And the really rotten ones (sorry!) which smell like baby poop. All of the poops float and if they are runny they stick to the bowl. (again sorry!) I hardly leave the house these days because I'm so embarrassed by the gas.
  6. Hi, Rinne. Thanks for your reply. I am not on a non-gluten diet yet but will go on it very, very soon. Just have to get this Cat Scan done and wait to hear back with the results. A quick glance at the blood tests to my uneducated eye, it looks like the doctor is examining my liver and blood clotting. I don't know what if anything these sort of tests...
  7. After telling me the biopsies were 'normal' the print out of the actual report state 'abnormal'. She has told me to begin a Celiac diet but not to start it until the final tests are done. I am confused. First she says not to worry, everything's OK. Then the lab work indicates biopsies abnormal. She has also requested all blood work to be redone and...
  8. I saw my gastro doc and she has said NO to Celiac and then said it is possible she didn't take a sample from far enough down my small bowel. Two of the blood tests she ordered have come back abnormal with most of the others being low normal. These two are the abnormal ones: C Reactive Protein of 9.31 mg/L and Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Iga of 21 EU/mL...
  9. I have been seen by 4 neurologists. One said definitely MS. The others have said not MS and struck the diagnosis down. I have PCOS, heavy thyroid issues in family. Also have a brain tumor which has caused me tremendous grief over the years. Is rouleaux a common finding with celiacs? My CBC always shows rouleaux with normal platelet counts. I must be the...
  10. I've had many MRIs and each one of them is interpreted as MS despite having no symptoms. It is going on 11 years. Funny thing, never once was a single mimic ruled out. Is Celiac considered to be one?
  11. Oh my gosh! Thank you for this link! My front keeps changing color from normal white to brownish yellow. Now I know why! Thank you, thank you. Magic
  12. Hi, Stadium! I have always had problems and develope cavities quickly. I saw my dentist last week and he told me I have brittle teeth. I don't know what this means and wonder if it is because I do not drink milk (gas issues with it)? I already know my enamel is thinning.
  13. Hi, Whistle! Thank you for the Brandon link. You are correct it is a very sparse site. Hmm, I am a web designer . . . <smiling> Best of luck to you also!
  14. Oh, I know how to cook! Trust me. My problem is I have a very fussy partner who fusses so much the joy of cooking doesn't appeal to me that much. My mother has passed along a super heartburn remedy which is 100% natura and worksl: eat an alfalfa pill. I told the gastroentrologist about it.
  15. I live in the City but still find it rather hard to see in the dark. I don't have an actual diagnosis yet; waiting for the follow up with the Gastro doc in February. She said the small bowel test was normal but the gastroscopy test showed a lot of polyps. The only question she asked me was 'you have a lot of heartburn?' and did I require a prescription for...
