  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. A supportive friend sent me this recent NY Times link, very timely. Open Original Shared Link an exerpt..... BOSTON
  3. As moderator, it is my feeling that the discussion has run its course and has resulted in two sides with irreconcilable differences. I think that we should leave it at that and move on. Continuing what is quickly becoming an argument will not benefit any of us.
  4. Anyhow if your gut is happy why do you need to be happy too? Picky picky... Thanks for the chuckle. I did rinse it, but maybe not enough. It smelled so good while cooking, reminded me of okra, anyway my gut says "ahhhh". Someone also told me papaya is a good stomach tranquilizer, so when I am able to find it that feels soothing too.
  5. I think I could be biased because I do see a lot of people looking for relief from poor habits and medically inflicted conditions. After a while I see so many afflictions I think it represents the whole US, maybe it doesn't. I am also biased because a doctor COULD have told my mother (whom I am sure had Celiac disease, judging by family history and...
  6. My intention was to vent frustration and maybe prevent others from following in the same painful expensive footsteps that I had taken in trying to figure out why I was suddenly so sick and now have damaged kidneys thanks to the drugs I was pescribed. Knowlede of gluten intolerance has been around for ages and is the root cause of so many disorders that you...
  7. Tried the quinoa and the taste put me off, ugh, but my intestines loved it.
  8. I am also sensitive to all those things and more. Learning about all of this is fairly new to me. I have had the strangest symptoms that range from a sudden outbreak of intensly itchy hives (from eating blue corn)to dry mouth/eyes, nerve pain and it has left me feeling like my body is foreign to me in how it feels and reacts. Something I read said that it...
  9. So being careful about what you eat is being a fool and a jack***? I am confused, I thought with the amount of good publicity/spin the AMA gets in the media, there wouldn't be a need to continue the propaganda in a celiac disease forum of all places. I would think that this forum (more so than others) would be a place for venting the frustration of being...
  10. It took me years to realize "Dr. Welby" and all that show stood for was a complete and dangerous fiction, and even though modern medicine killed my mother at age 46, I still thought it was acceptable to take anti-biotics. I know doctors save lives in emergencies but most (not all) do far more damage in their ignorance of health care than we can even begin...
  11. Thank you for the ideas, GFinDC, I've been making my own chicken broth but am too sensitive to eat legumes right now, my sister mentioned quinoa also, I will give it a try. It is a relief to read some of the experiences in here, it sounds so much like my own experience--I try to explain what is going on with me to my family but it really baffles most...
  12. I hope I'm using the reply button correctly. Just wanted to say thank you jerseyangel for the encouraging words, I have been trying to keep an even keel all this time and didn't realize how scared I've been till I read .."light at the end of the tunnel" and "healing" (gave me a good cry)
  13. We need to take responsibility for our own health because doctors are not trained in health they are trained in prescibing medications (often quite lethal) that keep drug companies wealthy but keep people quite sick. "Doctors are just the same as lawyers; the only difference is that lawyers merely rob you, whereas doctors rob you and kill you too." Chekhov...
  14. I thought I could keep my sanity if I could just hang on for two weeks of the diet change, then I had to change that plan and just hang on for the 90 days... I am 52 yrs old and March 4th will be 90 days of going gluten free for me. Initially I had a very bad experience with several different medical practioners before I did some reserch on my own and...
