Ok I'm new to this also but it sounds like everyone's a little different. Maybe due to the extent of the damage to the small intestine. Some celiacs can not tolerate any dairy protein at all (that's me) some are lactose intolerant and some lucky devils can eat all the gluten free ice cream they want too! When my trouble started my family dr told me to use lactaid before meals in which I could not be 100% sure there was no dairy for a few days. It was less terrible but in no way OK. That's when he sent me to the gastro who sent me to the immunologist where I received the diagnosis of celiacs.

Hi Roda,
My first reaction is very mild itching on my elbows. I didn't even notice I was doing it until a co-worker with celiacs pointed it out. Second is a missed BM that extends to a week of missed BM's even with MiraLax. I didn't realize I was damaging my intestine until I could no longer digest dairy.
I'm so glad I don't get hives in my eyes like my co-worker but his hives told him what was going on before he lost his ability to digest dairy.
In reading the internet to educate myself about my celiacs, I kept seeing my 18yo son in the list of symptoms. He had his blood draw to be tested for celiacs today. Our conversation on the way home was about pizza. Better to substitute the crust now than give up the whole pizza latter.

Good Morning Mother of Jibril,
Thank you for posting! I was recently diagnosed with celiacs plus allergy to celery (dairy protein, soy, wheat, brewers yeast, sweet potatoes). I had removed bread, cheese and vinegar from my diet long ago because they gave me headaches (mold allergy?). Last summer I had to remove all dairy. This winter all gluten was gone. I was starting to get angry! So I started experimenting with gluten free corn chips, rice chex, chocolate bars, new veggies and fruits including parsnips. I've been sick for a week. Thought is was the corn chips. Reduced my diet to meat and veggies. LOL, I'll take the parsnips out now.
Thanks again and I hope you are feeling much better.

Wow some of you are really harsh. Makes me wonder if I'm in the wrong place. My doctor didn't even bother with the blood work. One look at my elbows and I had a diagnosis. Oh, he has treated five members of my family for over ten years. He ordered my sons bloodwork today. My child will not be suffering through a biopsy as I refused to have one done myself. I'm squeamish about having things put in where things should only come out. Have a good day!
