  1. I live in a suburb of Buffalo, NY, and have eaten at Curly's 3x in the past 2 months! I'm so glad to have found them. Their staff is very aware of the gluten-free diet. The first time I ate there and ordered a Caesar salad, the waitress remembered that I could not eat croutons. Their (very extensive) menu includes a small symbol next to dishes that can be...
  2. According to their website, Olive Garden does offer gluten-free selections from their menu. Here's a link to learn more - you have to click on the "gluten-free" tab halffway down the page. I haven't been there yet to try them out as Gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link
  3. Other than Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's, Swiss Chalet (soon to close in my area) and UNO Pizzeria, I am unable to locate any national restaurant chains that "comfortably" provide gluten-free offerings. I've learned that Chili's, Applebee's and TGIFriday's are not comfortable attaching nutritional information to their menus, because in most...
  4. Thanks JNBUnnie1 for your candid feedback. The day after this event, I'm planning to send a letter to their corporate office, to let the company know about my dissatisfaction with their customer service, or lack thereof. Between the hotel staff and family who question why I can't eat the fruits, cheeses, etc., I know by refraining from eating at this function...
  5. I had to write back, and let you know that See's Candy is the best! I'm still enjoying a hollow chocolate bunny from them, and have their Molasses Chips to look forward to. They will be my chocolatier of choice, even if I have to pay a little extra for shipping/handling.
  6. I'm planning to cruise in 2010, and was going to sail again (but first time as Gluten-free) on Royal Caribbean. After reading these threads, I'm considering booking w/ Celebrity instead. Can anyone comment on whether Celebrity will accommodate the Gluten-free diet for breakfast and/or lunch, too? Thanks! gluten-free since March 2008; positive endocscopy...
  7. When in doubt, I call the manufacturer to confirm its contents are gluten-free; for my own peace of mind.
  8. Thank you all for your responses. I plan to attend the brunch w/ a full stomach and focus on the socializing! Thanks again!
  9. Our niece's communion brunch is being held at a local hotel chain's banquet facility. When I phoned the banquet manager if they could prepare a gluten-free meal for me, on a dedicated grill (i.e., chicken breast), he hesitated and questioned the need to have my meat, potato, etc., prepared on a separate area. At the time of the phone call, I was taking care...
  10. Holidays visits while being gluten-free can be tricky, can't they?! That said, I noticed you live in NY, and don't know if you're near a Wegmans. I consulted their Consumer Affairs Dept and ALL their baked hams are gluten-free. That's what we purchased for this Easter. Good luck!
  11. I'm looking for either a company that sells, or a recipe for, gluten-free sponge candy. Here in Western New York, sponge candy is "all the craze," and unfortunately, none of our local chocolatiers have gluten-free chocolate and/or a Gluten-free facility? Of course, now I'm craving it! Any help is appreciated! Thanks! Jennifer (Buffalo, NY) Gluten...
  12. I emailed See's and (quickly) received the following response from their Customer Service Dept. I wanted to share this with my fellow Celiac/Gluten-Free friends, for your reference. "Thank you for visiting Sees.com. In response to your request for information about the presence of gluten in our candies, our Quality Assurance Manager has advised that we...
  13. Thank you - I will definitely check them out!
  14. Yippee! I did purchase some Dove chocolate yesterday and will check See's online. Thank you!
  15. I'm looking for a chocolatier or chocolate company that sells gluten-free Easter chocolate, and their chocolate is manufactured in a gluten-free facility. I'm not interested in making my own chocolate, but rather, buying the finished product. I've had NO luck w/ my local chocolate shops, and I was hoping to have just one Gluten-free chocolate rabbit or other...
