  1. It was definitely red, maybe even bright red. I finally went to a gastroenterologist (after a tiring, depressing weekend of agonizing pain in my abdomen and sleepless nights) and she was almost sure it was Celiac related. She gave me live cultures and mesalazine to take for 12 days and if I didn't get better then to do a colonoscopy. I felt like I was getting...
  2. So when I have horrifying nightmares it probably means I've been glutened?? Oh man, I've had nightmares, night screaming and jumping out of bed and I just thought it was me!!I'm usually so careful about what I eat but now am having serious bowel problems and have to get a colonoscopy. Could it be living with others who eat lots of gluten, like there are bread...
  3. Wait! Eggs? I wouldn't say eggs is a safe "core" group...it's also a common allergen. I also thought eggs were fine until blood tests showed I was 100% intollerant, which explained my lack of energy.
  4. You may be intollerant to other things besides being Celiac. When I moved to Rome almost 2 years ago, suddenly all my previous Celiac symptoms came back but I was really careful about what I ate. Then I got blood tests done and found out I had a significant number of intollerances, including eggs, which I was eating very often. It already sucks to have Celiac...
  5. Wow, that's great to hear! I'm Celiac and have endometriosis and thought they were linked but not sure. It's good to know that others are out there are just like me!
  6. But did you have abdominal pain as well? I went to the emergency room yesterday in Italy because I had a good amount of blood in my stool. I've had periods of this before but not as much. Also my whole abdomen ached. The doctor did an xray and blood tests which showed nothing in the blood. But he said I should get a colonoscopy. I guess it's the only thing...
  7. I'm not entirely sure if were tested for all of these because I think you'd have to have a colonoscopy for many of them. However, I'm sure it's not the anal fissure or hemorrhoids, the other things I don't know. Thanks for the info!
  8. I think corn could be the culprit or at least it is for many people. Think about how much corn we have in the American diet, almost everything processed has either corn or wheat (corn syrup, corn as a starch, etc., carmel color). I agree, the best thing is probably eliminate everything and then slowly add different food groups. Good luck!
  9. I've been a diagnosed Celiac for nearly 4 years and have had the usual ups and downs of the disease. For the past couple days I've had blood in my stools and not just a little (I've had a little here and there before) this time but alot. I went to the emergency room because I called the doctor and the doctor told me to but there all the blood tests were negative...
