  1. I dont think it matters what type of diet you follow. It is simply calories in vs. calories out. Over the years, I have lost weight eating high carb foods, high fat, etc. as long as I kept my total under 1200 a day, I lost weight. Keeping a food diary helps me stay on track.
  2. It makes sense, but they are relucant to give up some things they like to eat. Will it still be a benefit to allow some things remain, or does it need to be all gluten-free or can they still have a few things? This is what is confusing for me. Thanks
  3. Let me say that this site is great. I really sympathize with sufferers of celiac disease. I was recently diagnosed with gluten allergies and in the process of getting rid of all the gluten in my house. Is it right for my family to switch their diet as well?
  4. I just found out I have wheat, soy, egg, & dairy allergies. I need to reorganize my kitchen. I noticed that rice chex are gluten-free, but are there other products that fall into that catergory but not labeled gluten-free. My guess is not to many would fall info this catergory. I feel overwhelmed having to read all those labels and try to identify...
  5. I make a salad dressing that I love. I just out I have a wheat allergy, so double check these ingr. 1/4 c balasamic vinegar 2 T water 2/3 c olive oil 1 t pepper 1 t sea salt 1 t oregano 1 heaping t minced garlic (from a jar) Shake well
  6. Thanks for your help. You know, I dont think it'll be too bad because there are other choices. I just need to go through my pantry, read labels, and get my kitchen organized. Looks like I'll have a busy weekend. BTW, have you changed your entire household to gluten free?
  7. Thanks for all the replies. A lot of good ideas. Im feeling overwelmed because not only do I have to give up wheat but dairy, eggs, & soy too. But, I think this is definately manageable. This site is great!
  8. Looking for snack ideas because most products I found that are gluten free contain a lot of sugar and calories. I have t1 diabetes any suggestions (besides fruit or popcorn)? thanks
  9. I recently tested positive to wheat, soy, dairy, and egg allergies. This came as quite a surprise since I am not aware of any adverse effects after eating these things, or is it I dont realize some of the effects. I have been a Type 1 diabetic for 28 yrs.
