  1. My son has a patchy red rash on his face that gets much worse for a few days to a couple weeks after he gets glutened. I've never paid attention to why his ears get red when they do, because there is no rash, just redness. He gets the same rash on his diaper area when he gets gluten, he's 15 months old.
  2. The stores mentioned aren't on this side of the state, but I am going to try some other health food stores tomorrow. Am I just trying to stay away from "natural flavors" as far as yogurt goes, or is there anything else I may not be aware of in them? I'll be looking for the greek yogurts right?
  3. Where do you find it? I looked at Safeway, and wasn't surprised to see it there, but don't really know where else I'm going to have luck getting it. Is there a chain that carries it, or do you have to shop the out of the way stores (I'm in Washington State if anyone knows of something here).
  4. Wow! I hadn't seen that list before. That's pretty depressing. I told my husband that I've changed my mind, he and our daughter and baby are fine and this has all been a bad dream. He laughed. This is going to take a lot longer than I thought to get them gluten free. Deep breath. Thanks so much for the link. I'm going to try to get that list in my palm...
  5. I haven't seen those websites, thanks. Am I to understand that unless it's one of those companies that says they will clearly state any gluten, things that say "natural flavorings" are to be steered clear of until I can contact them? Is there more than one kind of wheat that I have to watch for on labels too, ei. spelt and kamut, another kind of gluten containing...
  6. Okay, thanks. It must have been the yogurt, which is pretty depressing, since I just went out and got three large tubs of it the other day, sigh. This stinks, but I'm sure that feeling is normal at the beginning huh? I couldn't keep the tears back at dinnertime tonight, the month of frustration broke the dam I guess. Anyway, anything else not "obvious" that...
  7. Thank you! I thought yogurt would be safe, I don't see any ingredients that are obviously gluten, this is so frustrating. I know it has to get easier with time, but man, this is hard.
  8. Now I'm not so sure. I saw something about making sure your milk, yogurt, and butter is gluten free. I'm so frustrated, this is still pretty new for us and it seems like I find out something I thought was safe isn't every day. So I'm wondering if anyone can help me out. We use the O organic vanilla yogurt from safeway and the O milks also. Also tillamook...
  9. I am worried about how we will deal with schools if we don't have something from a doctor saying that she can't have gluten. It's been my experience here that the schools absolutely want a note from a doctor that says "so and so can't have this to eat," or they won't respect it. I don't want some teacher giving her graham crackers for a snack because she...
  10. I hadn't thought about the dog food, she does have access to that, she doesn't eat it, but she will sometimes play with it when no one is looking. I checked her soap, called the company, and they said it is gluten free. I wondered if behavior changes were part of things, sudden onset like that. So, our laundry detergent is ALL in the blue box for HE washers...
  11. We have had my 2.5 year old dd off gluten for almost 2 weeks now and she has been having some great results: sleeping through the night, fewer tantrums, happier, healthy appetite, stools have become normal. This morning when she woke, she had a little rash, some red spots, not raised at all. This evening the spots are larger, and seem to be more of them...
  12. Hi, this is my first post here, hope I'm not breaking protocol and should be doing this somewhere else, but from what I've read, everyone seems very supportive, so I'm not too worried. I am super new to the whole gluten thing, really didn't know what it was until this last week. I realized a couple weeks ago that my 2.5 year old dd is having problems with...
