  1. I had seen a lot of pics on line as well but my rash on my back and chest didn't look like the pics I saw. I did, see one today in your link, that resembles my rash. So thanks. This was helpful.
  2. What's the skinny on how & why gluten affects our mood or behavior? I don't understand the connection yet. Can someone please explain it to me? Thanks!!!
  3. Are we allowed to post pics on this forum? I'm curious to know if anyone has DH on their back and what it looks like. Since I am going to see the doc on 8/31, I'm trying to not treat mine at all (I have an rx for Fluocinonide) and I am still eating lots of gluten rich foods. My back and my scalp are very itchy right now. My back hurts and burns from being...
  4. Thanks y'all!!! Basically regular foods but no bread or pasta. (A real killer for me. Being from New Orleans we love to eat bread with everything!!!) I think it's the hidden gluten that will be the hardest to maneuver around.
  5. Assuming that I may be going gluten free soon, what is a typical meal plan? Is it easily do-able? Do people typically lose weight or gain when they switch? I have at least 20 lbs to lose (probably more like 40) and have had such a hard time since 40 yrs old. I'll be 45 soon and it seems that I'm gaining more and more. I know I should exercise but some...
  6. Is it normal for the rash to wax and wane? Even if I've eaten gluten.
  7. It seems as though my flare ups coincide with stress as well. Good luck on your diagnosis.
  8. I think that the hands heal differently than the arms. The blisters would form and itch like crazy. I would scratch them until they would pop open and eventually the skin would peel off. There were times when I had no fingerprints because my skin would crack and peel away. Mostly my hands were just red and very swollen as they healed. I remember this...
  9. I almost forgot about mouth ulcers! As a kid I had them all of the time. I thought that everyone did. My mom would treat them with Gentian's Violet. Needless to say, I had purple dots in my mouth frequently. I just asked my husband and he said that he never had them. I still get them occasionally but not nearly like I used to. Now that I think of...
  10. No diagnosis yet and I don't want to talk myself into having celiac disease or GS. I know how I am. A little bit of knowledge can be dangerous! It's just eery how I have so many of the "symtoms" that I am reading about. My latest "thing" is completely forgetting to finish a word or a thought. I'll start a sentence and just stop. My husband will look...
  11. I'm on Cymbalta 60 mg for chronic pain from arthritis. (Osteo) I can only speak for myself since responses to antidepressants are very individual...but it changed my life. I was having so much pain for almost 2 yrs that when I was at the last straw all I could do was cry when I went to the doc. I started at 30 mg then once the typical side effects got...
  12. It seems that for as long as I can remember I have said "My belly hurts" and "I'm so tired". Almost every day of my life. And ya know, it kind of sucks. To think that just changing my diet could possibly "cure" me is an unimaginable concept. To think that I could actually feel "good"...really feel good for once. Man, that would be priceless....
  13. There's so much to read on this site it can be a little overwhelming. Can I ask an old timer to go over with us newbies, exactly what blood tests we'll need? My appointment is on Aug. 31. I want to make sure that all of my bases are covered. Thanks!
  14. I have never heard of adrenal exhaustion. I have dark circles and puffy eyes. My eyes always look "tired". I figured it was genetic. I am also very light sensitive. I have green eyes, though. i though light eyed people were naturally sensitive to bright light.
  15. I have seen 4 dermatologists since this rash on my back and chest started. The rash also runs along my hairline and on my neck under my ears. I have gotten 4 different diagnosis. Keratosis Pilaris, dermatitis, shampoo allergy, lack of sufficient moisturizing in the winter. I've been told to bathe in glycolic acid, not wash my hair with anything scented...
  16. Thanks for the response. I didn't take the allergy test seriously. It said that I was allergic to everything I ate on a regular basis. I didn't realize that you could be allergic to turkey. So I didn't follow the recommdendation to do an elimination test. My B12 was WNL when it was checked. That was several years ago when I had the neuro symptoms...
  17. Hi Everyone! I'm new to the board. I don't even have an appointment yet but after all that I've read I'm calling a GE tomorrow! It seems that I've had symptoms since I was 8 yrs old. Who knew they might be related? Here's my history: Rash on hands - started at 8 yrs old until early 20's. Rash would blister and itch like the dickens. Many diagnosis...
