  1. Thank you so much for the info! I just found out my IgG came back within a normal range - I just put myself on a gluten free diet- because in 2004 I got a 22 (weak positive) in the Gliandin AB IGG test. The tests after that from Elizabeth Shane were taken when I'd been completely gluten free for at least 3 months.
  2. Why the heck did my doctor tell me that I did not have celiac then? Not that I definitely do - but to flat out say I didn't is kind of weird. She also said if the IgG test would just reveal that I would need to get some kind of monthly shot for my immune system... nothing about celiac.
  3. I was only not eating gluten when I had the tests in December - both came back negative. My only positives were weak - Gliandin AB IGG test: 22 (weak positive) 7/29/04 and very recently 7/24/14 and the most recent one which was only Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum - 83 (low).
  4. Hi guys - it's been a very long time since I've been here. While in the past I have been told I do not have celiac or a gluten sensitivity, I am back because I am now questioning what the doctors have told me- I've found some of you on here to be more knowledgeable about celiac & gluten issues than some doctors - so I thought I'd throw you some information...
  5. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  6. Here is Chili's response to my inquiry regarding their most updated gluten-free menu: Thank you very much for your email and for your interest in Chili
  7. Could it possibly be that due to having celiac disease your intestines are more delicate and you have more reactions to different kinds of foods? Many people w/ celiac disease have problems with diary (lactose intolerance) as well as other foods. I'm not sure if I have celiac disease yet, but over the last few years, I cannot have any broccoli or cabbage...
  8. I am a 46 premenopausal woman who has rather severe osteoporosis (-3.1 on hips). I went to a metobolic bone specialist (endocrinologist) from NY Presbyterian University who highly suspected I had celiac disease and ran tests, including the Prometheus Serology test and all came back negative for celiac disease. (Although I had high levels of Vitamin D and...
  9. Has anyone ever become itchy after using a shampoo with wheat or barley in it? I have not been officially diagnosed as having celiac disease, but my endocrinologist suspects I do have it based on my history. In the past I'd used my husbands shampoo and I remember getting itchy in my arm pits later in the day after shaving with it (yes, I use shampoo...
  10. Rob, why not try to educate them just a bit? Why not tell them, in simple terms, what happens to the intestines upon injesting gluten. Explain how your own body attacks your intestines, damaging them enough to cause malabsorption problems and much more... even the possibility of cancer. I am not an officially diagnosed celiac, although my doctor highly...
  11. I keep hearing about it.. but what exactly is it? Thanks, Lisa
  12. Hi Sara... yes I too am taking a great calcium supplement - but as for Fosomax, it is definitely NOT RECOMMENDED for premenopausal women! My new endocrinologist (a metobolic bone disease specialist at Columbian University Med Ctr in NYC) expressed her anger and frustration of doctors prescribing Fosomax to women not yet in menopause. Thanks, Lisa
  13. I haven't yet been officially diagnosed w/ celiac disease, but my doctor highly suspects it... and I am certainly a "newbie," but I imagine that prior to anyone being diagosed and prior to going gluten free, the damage caused by years and years of eating gluten would probably take a long long time to heal!
  14. Darlindeb, that's very interesting that you lost weight once on the gluten-free diet...some background info on me: I am 46 and not too long ago found out I had severe osteoporosis (-3.1 in my hips) and I have not gone through menopause yet and don't have any of the typical reasons (anorexia, steroid use, etc.) to have such bad osteoporosis. In any event,...
