I read somewhere on this board that they were "schooled" in gluten issues and were pretty helpful, but they REALLY are! Went to the one in Copley Place in Boston, and no less than 3 employees (waiter, manager, etc) came over to tell me how comitted they were to helping me navigate the menu and preparing my food in a safe manner. It's the complete opposite...

I truly feel for you. I've only been gluten-free for 2 weeks, having been diagnosed on 11/11, and I'm already dreading the family visits (of course, when THEY are being high-maintenance for a dozen different reasons, that's different!) It's great that we have places like this where people understand! I don't know how I'd be starting out on this long...

I don't drink frequently or heavily, but I did have a few last week and how I suffered!!! Not from hangover symptoms, but the terrible stomach cramping that I get when I ingest "bad" foods. I'm not saying I think there was gluten in my drinks, but that my gut is so raw and abused that it just can't take the alcohol. -

I got the call yesterday that tests confirmed I have Celiac Disease (which I had never heard of until 2 weeks ago!!) I guess I have a great doctor, because he caught this on my first visit with GI complaints. Just wanted to say I'm glad this site and this board are here. I'm going to need a LOT OF HELP!
