  2. I am currently waiting for my blood results to be diagnosed with celiac disease (or not). A little history about me have suffered with "ibs" since I was 18 I'm now 25, I have recently been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid but my main problem is severe knee/fingerpain. I hurt my knee 6 weeks ago and doctor said it was a frayed tendonm and shouls be better...
  3. [Does anyone else find that they have more mental/emotional/behavioral symptoms than physical ones when they get into gluten?? Oh hell yes!! I didnt figure this out for a while.. but everytime I got gluten my whole mood would totally change and I would feel like crapola. I was beginning to think I was crazy too until it kept happening and I put two...
  4. Thanks for the advice. You could possibly be right about the soy and or dairy. When you had reactions to these things, was it the same as when you had been glutened? It feels very similiar to me. ~H
  5. I am now strongly considering that it is another food allergy as well. I will research more and hopefully get some answers. Thanks ~H
  6. Thanks for the advice. Congrats on 6 month gluten-free. Its hard. Yes I do cook but I work full time and have a household and two kids so sometimes time is the issue. I realize everyone has a busy life and its time management. I am the only Celiac in the house and everyone else eats everything. My husband is really supportive but he will not go gluten...
  7. Hi Everyone Sorry ahead of time for this but I cant take this anymore. I was diagnosed with Celiacs in October 2009. It was overwhelming at first and seemed like the worse thing in the world. Food used to be my life. I loved to eat anything and everything. I slowly became used to being so different from everyone else.. or at least tried. I dove into...
  8. I have many of the same reactions named here and trouble breathing is one of them... but usually after I have been CC'd or glutened a few times within a short period of time.
  9. So what you are saying is Carmel Color IS safe to eat from a Celiac perspective? I thought it was a taboo and I ate something twice and got sick and the only culprit was carmel..
  10. [ So what is gluten free ????? Is this trending ?!? Places seem to throw that on the menu or have a gluten-free menu but it doesn't mean much. I saw crackers the other day that had gluten free on the label...and made in a factory that processes wheat products written in the fine print. Ugh. I have found that some places label things gluten free...
  11. Thanks for making me feel better. I thought maybe I was imagining it when my joints starting aching and I started having difficulty breathing... It just feels like an anchor is sitting on my lungs. Great job with 4 months gluten-free!! I am almost a week straight without being glutened and I am proud of that..LOL.... I also started keeping a food journal...
  12. Thanks for the advice. I am actually 10 months into this madness. I was diagnosed in October of 09. I can stick to the basics and thats not the bad part... The bad part is even attempting to eat out in a restaurant. Thats where I always end up eating something I shouldnt (unintentionally). I am much more knowledgable than when I first started. It's been...
  13. Thanks for the info. Deep down I know you are right. I am mourning the whole celiac thing big time. I am slowly.. and I mean slowly coming to the realization that I will never have a relationship with food as I once did. I now simply try to make it through the day without eating something taboo. My husband is super supportive although he wouldnt be caught...
  14. I can really relate to the "just giving in"... I keep saying to myself.. once you have been gluten-free for one month straight (not accidently getting glutened)... then I will indulge in a sub or pizza... but I will be darned if I can even go a full month before I end up eating something hidden deep inside a piece of innocent looking food! It is soooo frustrating...
  15. I have found that since going gluten free that now when I do eat something (even a very small something) the side effects are horrible!! The worse thing is once you have been glutened... just knowing that the next few days will be pure torture. It is a very sucky thing indeed! H~
