  1. Hi, Thanks for both the responses. Yes I agree, the B12 and Vitamin D could be causing the issues, but my GI doctor does not feel this could be the case. He is fortunately sending me for a colonscopy just to be safe. The diarrhea doesn't really bother me too much since it is off and on, but the fatigue and headaches are affecting my life. I have no...
  2. Hi all, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease by strong positive tTG blood test and biopsy (Marsh 3B) in November 2009. At first I started to improve, but over the last few months I have not been feeling so well. My GI sent me for a battery of tests to see what my levels were, but to his surprise, everything came back fairly normal (his words). He also sent...
  3. Thanks for the advice. I am in the process of limiting my diet down now. I am trying to go with a meat/veg/rice type diet until I see some improvement. I have separated my kitchen the best I can, separate pots/dishes/sponges/toasters/etc. I'm hoping this improves without more changes to my kitchen and I don't want my fiance to have to go gluten free ...
  4. Hi, Thanks for the responses. Mushroom: I'm sorry to hear you went some difficult times as well from the sounds, but I'm glad you are doing better. My new GI doctor is checking for lactose tolerance and then going from there. I have not been tested for any other allergies though. On top of the weight loss and syncope, I am having the same fatigue, memory...
  5. Thanks for the positive words. I am happy to hear your husband has improved :-) I actually just received my FNA results right after my last posting. Unfortunately it has left me at square one: SPECIMEN ADEQUACY ------------------ - Unsatisfactory for evaluation DIAGNOSIS ---------- - Unsatisfactory for evaluation - Few scattered inflammatory...
  6. Hi, Firstly, I am a 24 year old male. It has been hell in the recovery process so far. I was diagnosed in November, 2009. At that time I already had a pacemaker for bradycardia/severe vasavagal syncope, on meds due to low blood pressure, mildly anemic and had many concussions due to blackouts (bp related) and was down to 138lbs (normal weight for me was...
  7. Hi, Thank you both for your responses. It has been hell in the recovery process so far. I was diagnosed in November, 2009. At that time I already had a pacemaker for bradycardia/severe vasavagal syncope, on meds due to low blood pressure, mildly anemic and had many concussions due to blackouts (bp related). Since then, I am now on Betablockers because...
  8. Hi, I am a 24 year old male with Celiac Disease and have just went for a DEXA scan. When leaving I saw on the machine an image of my hip. This is a color enhanced DEXA machine. The majority of my hip bone was blue and there were just a few random yellow/orange spots. According to the legend, blue means low and yellow/orange means high. Do anybody know...
  9. Hi, For the last few weeks I've been having strange feelings in my left rib cage. When I walked, I would get a stabbing pain. I went to my doctor because it was really bugging me, but the chest X-Ray was normal. Since then the walking discomfort is gone, but my ribcage still looks strange. My fiance pointed out when I was lying down yesterday that my top...
  10. Hi, I was diagnosed with Celiac's disease by blood test and biopsy last November. I have been gluten free since then and my seizures, heart troubles have improved. I had a pacemaker put in, but it working less now which is awesome! My only concern is that my b12 was 270 back when I was diagnosed. I had it retested last week and it came back 257. Everything...
  11. Hi, I was diagnosed about 5 months ago after having a wide variety of unexplained systems. My heart began to slow and finally stopped and I had a pacemaker put in. I had unexplained anemia with bone marrow showing signs of failure. I had seizures and felt weak all the time. They suspected cancer, but before I saw the octologist, they did a celiac test...
  12. Hi, I was diagnosed with Celiac's Disease last Novemeber and have since been gluten free. On my checkup in January I had an enlarged spleen found during examination. I recently had some blood work done and had an ultrasound of my abdomen to check for an enlarged spleen. Here are the results of my tests: BLOODWORK (low in red, high in blue) WBC - 5...
  13. Hi, Thank for all your help through this, I took comfort in knowing I could sign on here when needing help. I have felt sick to my stomach and have actually thrown up this morning (yesterday) was my last gluten day. I have had severe problems the other end, but vomitting just started recently. Is that a normal thing to happen in late stage of damage or...
  14. Hi guys, Well I saw my GI dr today and he gave me a copy of the pathological report from the biopsy. The report said: Small Intestine Biopsy: High levels of intraepithelial lymphocyte counts with near complete villi atrophy. Stomach Biopsy: Antral and body-type mucosa show signs of mild inflammation and gastritis. Helicobacter...
  15. Hi, Just as an update, the biopsy came back early and the receptionist told me it was positive. I see the Dr this Thursday in his office to go over it. I'm still hoping maybe the receptionist read the results wrong, but I guess they wouldn't call me in so soon if it was negative. Oh well, I will get used to the new diet. Are there any other tests that...
  16. Hi, Thanks for your response. What is the gluten challenge, is this another way to get him to give me a true diagnosis? I am just frustrated today as my doctor has been confusing. My doctor before hand mentioned to me that the blood test is specific to celiac and couldn't really think of any other reason it would be raised that high, except with celiac...
  17. Hi, I just had my endoscopy and biopsy's done. I am a bit disappointed with what the Dr said after the procedure. He told me everything looked normal in the endoscopy. Before the endoscopy he told me he thinks I likely have celiac's disease with a 56 on the anti-tTG blood test. It is disappointing to me that no villi damage was seen. Makes it seem...
  18. Hi, Thank you for your reply, that is very interesting. I've had a couple doctors look at my B12 and Iron and never mention it being low. I agree though, on the total scale, it is not an optimum number. B12 has ranged between 250-270 and IRON has only been done once, 2 month ago and it was 50. Has anybody else experienced symptoms with their iron or b...
  19. I go for my biopsy next Monday, I hope it confirms everything, so I don't have to be in the limbo of a strong positive tTg and a negative biopsy. If this is the case, should I still stay off gluten or am I safe to eat gluten if the biopsy is negative. I have a nerve biopsy on Monday as well because 2 of my 3 small nerve fiber tests came back showing neuropathy...
  20. Hi, Thank you both for your replies. I just called my doctors office and set up a consultation for this week, endo will be soon. I got my test faxed to me today, the results were: tTRANSGLUTAMINASE IgA - 56 (reference range < 20) Does this sound like a strong positive to you guys or is this a weak positive. It looks pretty high, but the test and...
  21. Thank you for the reply, that was very informative. A little of me is in doubt as I don't want to deal with it, but you are right, a positve test is likely accurate. Besides, it could be a lot worse than celiac disease. :-) Any other input is appreciated as well.
  22. Hi, Long story short, my red blood cell counts have been ranging from low-normal to mild anemia over the last 4-5 months, HB flucuates between 110-140, RBC between 3.6 - 4.5 and HCT between .355-.412. Lately all three have been better and on the higher end of the reference I gave, so right at borderline low. Due to this, I've gone through tons of CBCs...
