I bought Oil of Olay body quench lotion because I had a list of gluten-free products that said all oil of olay lotions were gluten-free. A few days later I read the ingredients, because I was continuing to have little itchy bumps on my arms, and found that it contains glutamic acid. I have tried my darndest to figure out if glutamic acid is a safe ingredient or not, but all I can find is that it has something to do with MSG and it's of vegetable origins. Does anybody out there know? I would love to be able to use that lotion because it smells great and works really well, but I don't want to chance it without knowing for sure.
This is a very old post, but I thought that I would add this response incase others pull this from a search.
