  2. Hi there I am looking for the names of some good gluten free/dairy free cookbooks. I want ones that are more geared towards dinner and lunch ideas and recipes. I have an almost three year old who is suspected Celiac, is getting much better since gluten free, but I am running out of ideas for meals especially because dairy really bothers him too. If anyone...
  3. Can you tell me where you can buy this peanut butter. Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the reply. I have a million questions. Can you please tell me if you have to be careful with plain rice? Is it often contaminated with gluten? Also for my little guy are there any fries that are safe. We tried the Ian's but he didn't like them. I called Mccain today and they have some that don't contain gluten but are cooked in the same areas where...

  10. Hi there I am very new at this and am wondering if there is an up to date gluten free product list. I found one on here from 2004, but I am sure things can change. It would be handy to print off a list to take to the grocery store. Are there certain brands that are better than others at not hiding gluten in products and displaying it on labels? Are there...
  11. Among other she is being tested for IgA, IgM, Igg(Quant) and ATTG-anti transglutimate IgA. Is it one of these tests that tests for gliadin? Thanks
  12. Yes that helps a lot. Thanks! Did you have Celiac symptoms? This test can be preformed by family doctor?
  13. Hi our son tested negative to the home test they sell here in Canada but now his poor little feet are cramping. Is this common in Celiac children? We are taking him for blood work through the doctor. I have heard from this forum test results in children are not that accurate so we will try him on gluten free either way. What causes foot cramping in Celiac...
  14. Hi there we are just waiting to do Celiac testing at the doctors but with symptom and family history we are going to go gluten free even if the test shows negative. With my sons symptoms we do not want to wait the almost one year to get food allergy testing done. We feel it would be best to go gluten free and try to uncover any other food allergies. Does...
  15. Hi I want to have our son tested for other food allergies as well. Any opinions on which is the most reliable. I was considering the Elisa test (blood test). Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to test?
  16. Thanks for the replies. One thing I would be concerned about with the biopsy is also misdiagnosis, because isn't Celiac frequently misdiagnosed as Krohns?
  17. Hi we are highly suspect of Celiac in our two year old, as there is a family history. Is it common with Celiac to have an odd smelling stool, lately they have been really strong smelling with this hard to explain smell.
  18. Myself after being living with an undiagnosed illness for four years which is still undiagnosed, have a very poor view of the medical community so forgive me for being jaded but.......what are peoples opinions having to have an official "Celiac" diagnosis. My son is testing negative but he is having a lot of diarrhea and other problems so we are going gluten...
  19. Oops sorry meant to reply to dixibell.
  20. Not sure what would cause this, possibly allergies. Our son who we are suspecting Celiac gets very red hot ears and then us very irritable. We always thought this was his teeth coming in, but now he has all of his teeth and this is still occurring.
  21. Thank-you for all of the great ideas and tips. My husband and I are going to go gluten free as well as it will be much easier to not risk any gluten contamination, as we really want to see our son improve. Thank-you
  22. Thanks for the reply, we are going to have the celiac test done and then are going gluten free. Can you please give me some tips for making my kitchen gluten free. Are there certain things such as kitchen utensils that I need to put away or certain things I need to do so there is no cross contamination?
  23. Hi we suspect Celiac in our two year old even though his tests are negative so far. There is a family history of Celiac. Can you please share tips on how to make my kitchen gluten free and to avoid cross contamination? I am guessing throwing out my toaster and getting a new one would be a good start. What other household tools for the kitchen should I be...
  24. If anyone could give me some advice from personal experience that would be great. I have two sisters that are most likely celiac but not diagnosed yet and two nephews that are celiac. My son was constipated from birth and removing milk from his diet fixed that problem. After that he started to experience crumbly, sand like stool on and off so we tested him...
