  1. Hi girls! Seems like everyone is doing great! Keep it up! Thanks for the input on GERD. The Kroger brand of Tums is gluten free. I don't like to take them except when I'm really struggling. I am already on Nexium but my doctor is trying to get me off of them and onto some other more natural solution. I've tried the apple cider vinegar... it made it...
  2. We went to the Chili's in Flint and they were very attentive, concerned and kind however I still was glutened. They even threw away the first dish because of a mistake. I think they just were not aware of gluten being in other items. I don't know but I felt bad for 5 days. However, Cottage Inn Pizza was amazing! Not all of them have the gluten free pizza...
  3. The Cottage Inn in Brighton is bigger than a personal pizza but not as big as their regular size and they are $10.00. I hope that helps. You can just call your local Cottage Inn and ask. They seemed to know exactly what I was talking about when I asked about their gluten free pizza in Brighton and in Grand Blanc... Even though Grand Blanc doesn't make...
  4. Thanks guys! And wow! Is that your pic Erin?! I used to look good too! I used to work out 6 days a week for 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day and I ate ridiculous! I had a personal trainer that was amazing! He has made some Mr. America and Mr. Universe winners. He knew how to get it done. But I don't want to be on a body builder's diet long term. It's not really...
  5. Wow! You girls are really going!!! You are really killin' it!!! You should be thrilled! And I'm so glad you are seeing results already! I did work out that time I said I would. And this week I did work out 4 times. Now I see where I really need the encouragement. EATING!!!! I am exercising and seeing some results and I can do 20 push ups! Sorry...

    ARCHIVED Doctor'S "Diagnosis"

BOLOGNA!!! That Dr. was no good to you. And I'm sorry for that. I went undiagnosed for 2 decades!!! He gave you a lame answer. Find a D.O. He was the first one to really listen to me and diagnose me correctly. He also marries traditional medicine with homeopathic. But either way. The best Drs. I've ever had were all D.O.s. They just listen better...
  8. Well gals, how is everyone doing? I am getting closer to one of my goals! I didn't even realize it until a friend asked me how many push ups I could do. I said I didn't know so I got down and started pushing... guy style. I couldn't believe it. 20. Yes, 20! My goal is 30. I didn't think I was that close but I guess working out is paying off! I didn...
  9. Hi again everyone!!! Sorry I've been out of touch but I've been very busy! I did exercise 4 times last week like I said I would! One of those was at 10:30 at night and I'm not a night person!!! But I did it! Last week I was at my brother's house babysitting his children for the week. So I had mine and his! Roda, nice to hear you are really kickin...
  10. The cake says "may contain soy" and the cookies and brownies both contain soy. But I know of a great recipe for cake with frosting that is just amazing! I found it in this book called "The Guide to a Gluten Free Diet". I made it. Amazingly it didn't take long and then I was afraid to eat it because I knew what it was made out of but since I went to the...
  11. Great job on your workout!!! That bike thing sounds like a great idea! I'll have to try that with my 2 year old! I want the family to get out and have a more active lifestyle. It's hard sometimes when the work is pilled so high and you feel like the 80/20 rule is working against you but I'll keep going until I get it flipped around. I'm kind of stubborn...
  12. Sounds good! I did try breading my chicken breasts with Almond meal and rice flour and spices. That one turned out pretty good!
  13. Roda- Mountain biking sounds great!!!! I'm sorry you are having a difficult time. But don't think it's all or nothing. You are not failing if you don't work out 6 times a week. The idea is to look at progress. And who cares what the chart says! Those are generalizations. If Arnold S filled one out they'd say he was overweight too! Caliper test might...
  14. Thank you so much! This is very helpful! I look forward to trying the pizza mix!
  15. Thank you so much everyone! This is very helpful! I can't wait to get going! I was wondering too if anyone knows of mixes you can make from scratch that are gluten free. I don't have a lot of other areas to cut costs really. We hardly eat out since I was diagnosed. I was glutened eating out at a place that even had a gluten free menu. They meant well...
  16. Well, you seem to have some reasonable goals set for yourself. That's a good place to be especially since you have had so much difficulty with health issues. This week I am shooting for 4 times working out. I don't have a lot of weight I want to lose but I want to decrease my body fat significantly and get rid of the dunlop and jiggle and cottage cheese...
  17. Sorry you weren't feeling well. Nice of your husband to buy you something to help you stay in shape! What is the 30 day challenge? I have a wii too however I'm using a DVD right now. Do you want to go for body fat loss percentage or do you want to do this 30 day challenge or both? I'm open. Just let me know! I'm feeling motivated already! I'm...
  18. I am new to gluten-free and now it looks like I might have a problem with soy as well. So I am going gluten and soy free. I want to make more things from scratch but I don't know where to buy them without destroying the grocery budget. Does anyone know of a co-op or something that I can buy bulk or just cheaper? My grocery bill has more than doubled and...
  19. I'm working on getting my body back. If I was serious for a couple months I think I could have my body back. Eating is a challenge as are all the things that go along with Celiac however, I'm not quitting. Anyone else? So, I thought if we got back in shape together in the spirit of friendly competition... for example, I worked out this many days how about...
