  1. How do you deal with family members and friends who don't take you seriously? I discovered I have celiac disease and went gluten free 6 months ago. The problem is I've been living abroad for several years so my family has not witnessed my symptoms. All these years I hid from them that I suffered from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue as well as constant...
  2. I found the answer to my question... They are gluten free... thought I'd post it here in case anyone else was wondering about these. I called Maybelline and they emailed me the list of ingredients found in all the different Shiny-licious lip glosses + a list of ingredients Maybelline use that contain gluten. After comparing both lists, they appear to...
  3. Hi all, Does anyone know if Maybelline Shiny-Licious lip glosses are gluten free? I found a few blogs that list them as gluten free, but I have a few problems: 1) There are no ingredients on the product - I emailed Maybelline regarding this, but they never got back to me. 2) Maybelline seem to only provide a list of gluten containing ingredients...
  4. Yeah I know it's very common in celiacs, and of course whenever I get glutened the fatigue gets worse for a while... but even in my 'normal' gluten free state, I feel extremely tired and spaced out... despite blood tests showing I don't have anemia and have no vitamine deficiencies at all. It's been a lifelong issue too. Oh well, only a sleep study will...
  5. Hey! thanks for the reply. =) My doctor thought I might have B12 deficiency too, but I passed a blood test a month ago to look for that and everything was fine. I didn't have any vitamin deficiencies actually. I've been thinking about doing a sleep study test yes... I'm pretty sure I have a sleep disorder of some sort... hmm will have to look into...
  6. I was doing some research and came across a few researches that link Narcolepsy to Celiac Disease and gluten sensitivity. Now I find this very interesting because one of my major problem is severe fatigue/sleepiness. It's like I'm never fully awake during the day. I feel like I'm in a sort of (bad) dream state / fog most of the time because of it. I...
  7. Ohh, that's a very interesting piece of information. Thanks a lot for that! I think I might have just got closer to the answer. I'm off to research this and let my mum know.
  8. Thanks for the replies! He didn't mention doing a biopsy/endoscopy. I expected him to suggest this as he initially said himself that we might require more than a blood test to get to the bottom of it, but it's like he wasn't as concerned anymore after I got the negative results. Thanks! You're right, I don't need a doctor to tell me to...
  9. Hi there, As the title says, I was just tested for Celiac disease and got a negative result. I had never heard about celiac disease before I went to see a GP about the many symptoms I've had for years. After being in his office for 5 minutes, he said "I'm having you tested for celiac disease!!". It sounded as though he had never been so sure about anything...
