  1. Yes, my doctor did recommend the biopsy, BUT not necessarily to look specifically for Celiac. Once my Celiac blood work was negative my doctor totally dismissed the idea of Celiac Disease. I was having various symptoms, many including GI and we were trying to pinpoint the cause. But I will tell you that while receiving testing of nearly every kind trying...
  2. I hope this helps. I'm 25 and my blood work was negative as well, but my biopsy was positive. I would not rely solely on the blood work. Blood work is never 100% accurate. Also, an endoscopy is a very painless procedure and insurance may cover it versus genetic testing.
  3. I would agree with everyone else that it varies for each person. I have been gluten free for 7 months and still am far from feeling 100%. I have seen many improvements such as less headaches, getting through the day without anti-diarrhea pills, less nausea, etc. I recently eliminated dairy products and am still trying to figure out what other foods might...
  4. Thanks for all of the advice... Some new things I need to try. Pumpkin seeds sound good, i'll have to try that especially!
  5. I went to the doctor and ended up completing a 72 hour stool sample. Everything came back negative, so must just be something "normal"?.
  6. I was wondering what others are doing to get good sources of fiber in their diet? I have been gluten-free for 6 plus months, but am still learning. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  7. I have a dog as well and her food and treats contain gluten. I have her food and treats stored in containers, both nowhere near my food and just practice good handwashing following giving her a treat or feeding her. I do not think it's necessary to put your dog on a gluten free diet as well. We cannot get contaminated from anything in the air so as long...
  8. As far as I understand Corn Falkes and Rice Krispies are NOT gluten free. Malt is an ingredient that is not gluten-free. I would also stay away from Corn Pops which do not appear to be gluten-free either.
  9. I am going to the doctor tomorrow, so I will let you know what I find out. Thanks for replying!
  10. I am new to this website as well and am finding it sooooo helpful. Its just comforting to know that i'm not alone with some of the issues I face. I have been gluten free for 6 months now and still am far from feeling 100%. I have good days and bad days still. I do not know how long I had Celiac before I was diagnosed. I am thinking about trying to eliminate...
  11. I have been gluten free for nearly 7 months now and have recently been dealing with very wierd looking BM's. I know this may be TMI, but was wondering if anyone else was having this issue or knew what it could be? On a regular basis my BM contain small little white specks. Its starting to freak me out. Anyone have this and figure out what it is?
  12. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 6 months ago and have seen some improvement, but continue to have digestive issues. For the past few months I have been seeing what looks like tiny white/cream colored specks in my stool on a consistent basis. I know I have read posts about this before, but has anyone ever figured out what this is?
