  1. Hello Lee Ann, I eat mozzarella cheese quite often and do fine on it. If you can't take rice, have you ever tried buckwheat? I eat a lot of buckwheat - I grind it into flour and make wafflesand bread with it, though I do add brown rice and lentil flour. Buckwheat, if you can tolerate it, is very nutritous. Another grain that is easy to digest for celiacs...
  2. Hi! My skin is dry too. I like using plain old glycerine right after the shower. Not very glamorous but it sure helps me. I find it especially good on rough hands and heels. My husband gets horrible cracks in his toes in the winter, and the glycerine helps heal them well. Ann
  3. I gained about 17 lbs in the 6 mos. I've been gluten free. I'm getting disgusted with myself. I try to lose but it doesn't work, I cheat too much as I don't have the will power I had when younger. mopsie
  4. Lots of good advice here! I also make all my own foods from scratch. One area where I've had a gluten accident was with my calcium pills. I assumed they were gluten free, then it took me a while to figure out what was making me sick. Now I read labels on my vitamins carefully and when in doubt don't take it! Mopsie
  5. Hi!, I'm from the Peace River country. The only thing I've found gluten free is salad too. Not too appealing in winter I've gotten into the habit of taking my lunch along where ever I go. It's hard to find gluten-free flours here, so I have a flour mill and do all my own gluten-free baking. mopsie
  6. Hello Everyone I'm new to this board, and have been finding it very helpful. I was diagnosed last July after having been sick for about 3 years. My dr. thought it was my gall bladder and wanted to take it out but the surgeon wanted a bowel biopsy done first and - there was the celiac disease. A great relief it was to find out what was really the problem...
  7. Hi All, I find that my gluten free breads get soo dry, so now I add a grated apple for one loaf. I slice the bread then freeze it and toast it frozen so it tastes freshly made. I also make waffles, freeze them and toast when needed. They are just the right size to make a nice sandwich. I grind my own grains, that saves a lot of $. Hope this...
