  1. Those ingredients look fine. There was some controversy a while ago because another manufacturer of generic Flonase claimed that their product was not gluten free. However, their statement was based on erroneous information. Www.glutenfreedrugs.com is a great resource for these questions. The site administrator has said that he has not found an aerosol...
  2. If it makes you feel any better, plenty of women with Celiac disease have had healthy babies. I've had two healthy babies. In fact, I was 8 weeks pregnant when I underwent the upper endoscopy. So, I wasn't even on a gluten-free diet until 8 weeks pregnant. I had zero complications and she's as healthy as can be. Good luck and congratulations!
  3. There was an article last year in Gastroenterology that made the lay press. If I remember correctly, the authors used blood samples from people who lived on an airforce base 50 years ago. They found that Celiac disease is more common now than it was 50 years ago. They also found that those with undiagnosed celiac disease (therefore eating gluten) were...
  4. Yes. I made them and they were the most delicious gluten free chocolate chip cookies! Even people not on a gluten free diet thought they were delicious. I think there was a recipe on the KA box that I followed. Otherwise, it was on their website.
  5. I've never heard of bacterial overgrowth or low stomach acid causing elevated ALT, but I am not a hepatologist. I have had elevated ALT&AST also. Celiac disease itself can cause "transaminitis", which can be controlled with a gluten-free diet. Celiac disease can also lead to other autoimmune diseases, some of which affect the liver. Of course, there...
  6. I don't live in Cincinnati but my parents do so I go there pretty often. There's a Whole Foods in Hyde Park and a company that makes delicious gluten free cheesecake and other cakes nearby. They are called Moondance bakery. There are chain restaurants like Maggiano's and PF Chang, of course. My mom (who Aldo has celiac disease) says she's had good luck...
  7. I like those suggestions. Another thing my toddler really likes are Nut thins and Glutino breakfast bars. There are also some really good animal cookies. I thi k Envirokidz might make them(?). Plus, Panda Puffs (if you're giving peanut products) and Gorilla Munch or any gluten-free Envirokidz cereal.
  8. I found out I had celiac disease when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. I suspect I had celiac disease for at least 10 years before I was diagnosed. I got pregnant the first month I tried and had no complications with my pregnancy. I ate gluten free after I found out I had celiac disease but I already had quite a bit of gut damage. My doctor said it would...
  9. I'm a pharmacist with Celiac disease and I know how frustrating it can be to get a straight answer from some of these drug companies. Often they don't want to say their products are gluten free, even though they should be, because of the very low possibility of cross contamination. There's a wonderful pharmacist, Steve Plogsted, who researches tons of medications...
