About Me

I am the mother of 4 children, ages 19, 16, 15, and 11. My 15 yo daughter has been suffering from gastro issues, which she kept secret until recently. She started sharing the extent of the problem with me when my sister was diagnosed with Celiacs and I was explaining the condition. She said that it sounded like issues she was having and that she wanted to try a gluten free diet. I had her tested and went straight to the market. She has been gluten free for about a week and says she feels better already. Unfortunately her test came back negative, but I think the proof is in the way she is feeling. After researching Celiacs, I am convinced my other children have gluten intolerance as well, and I am now starting them on the diet as well.

  1. Thanks Marz... I am trying to convince the kids' dad to try it but he doesnt live with us. He is bipolar and schizophrenic so I wonder about that too. My daughter is convinced she is cured and I'm sure she will continue. I am going to at least start buying brown rice pasta, spaghetti, and bisquik for everyone because there is no big taste difference, and...
  2. I don't know if it was mentioned yet, but there is a gluten-free Bisquik as well as other gluten free mixes by Betty Crocker. We tried pancakes this past weekend and they were pretty good. We bought the brownie mix but haven't tried it yet. There are some great rice crackers we found at Costco, but I don't remember the name. They are in a white and blue package...
  3. Thank you everyone for your help. That is pretty much what I have heard about the testing part. I am just glad my daughter feels better. I am seriously thinking about putting the whole family on the diet. My youngest asked me to wait until after Christmas...she doesn't want to miss out. But her symptoms arent as embarrassing as my oldest's.
  4. This is my first post so I may go off topic. Please bear with me. I am the mother of 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. My 19 yo son is dx with ADHD, but I know its more than that and the doctors have never agreed. My 16yo son is dx with Autism, but his symptoms are not completely typical. He also is very thin and just recently seems to have stopped wetting...
