  1. My son and I have both been diagnosed with h-pylori and have been prescribed Pylera . I cannot find any information as to whether or not it has gluten in it. It is a new drug so I believe it may be gluten free but not on a gluten free drug list. Has anyone had any experience with this drug? Many thanks!
  2. Thanks! How do I contact a member?
  3. Our family is planning a trip to Maui and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for safe gluten-free dining. We will be in the Kihei area but are always willing to travel for good food! Also, does anyone know if the shave ice syrup is safe? I am dying for shave ice and can't find an ingredient list anywhere! Mahalo!
  4. I struggle with migraine headaches and try to manage them with advil, ice and rest. I also use tylenol for minor headaches. I have been noticing that I have more stomach issues when I use these meds so I called tylenol and while they told me that most of their products are gluten free, the list of ingredients they had and the list I had on my box were different...

  6. I'm sorry you are not feeling well. Is it gluten? Hope you feel better soon. I am slowly healing. Feel a bit better today. It is so nice to have others to talk to who understand!
  7. Yes that is true! I would just like someone who is experienced to follow me with this disease. My Rheumatologist doesn't know much about Celiac. She said it was just a hunch!
  8. I was making dinner for my parents and made stew with egg noodles. Not planning to eat any of it myself I didn't use gluten free product. What a mistake! The flour filled the air and I know I breathed it in. And then to top it off, I "tasted" a noodle to see if it was done. AARGH! After I swallowed it, panic slowly came over me. "Throw it up" my family cried...
  9. Thanks so much! I didn't know what to expect and this has been alittle frightening. I just realized I posted this in the wrong section! Should I repost? I would love to hear other's experiences. Thanks again?
  10. I am trying to find a good GI in the Sacramento area although I would go to the Bay area or Stanford if needed. I saw a GI doctor recently who wanted me to go on a gluten challenge for a definite diagnosis of Celiac. I had gone off gluten myself and was diagnosed by blood tests and symptoms by my rheumatologist. I don't think a gluten challenge is wise...
  11. I have pelvic pain and it was diagnosed as Interstitial cystitis - inflammation in the bladder. It is related to several autoimmune diseases including celiac disease. I was diagnosed by an Urologist but my gynecologist first did an ultrasound of the pelvic region to rule out other issues. Hope you can get to the bottom of it. I know it can be so uncomfortable...

  13. I originally went gluten free on the recommendation of a rheumotologist who thought that I had gluten sensitivity. I did not test positive in any of the blood tests done a couple years ago but had a positive finding in anticliadin antibody a long time ago. Based on my symptoms, abdominal pain, fatique, weight loss, osteoporosis, vit d deficiency, bloating...
  14. I have been on a gluten free diet now for almost four months. I had a endoscopy which was negative for celiac disease but there was some question about its veracity since I had not been eating gluten prior to the test. The GI doc wants to do a "gluten challenge" and recommends that I eat 2 saltine crackers a day for three weeks. Then he will repeat the...
  15. Has anyone tried the new chex cereals? I am GR, DF and soy free so am limited to the Honeynut version. It is delicious but I did notice some tummy aches in the days following eating it for breakfast and midnight snack. I am still trying to figure out why i am continuing to have pain so it may be an ingredient in the cereal but was just wondering about...
  16. I just tried this product and it was fabulous! I know it is dairy free and from what I can tell on the label it is gluten free but I am a little worried. Couldn't find anything on their website about it. Can anyone with more experience reading labels help me out?
  17. Thanks! I have been so frustrated...even started to eliminate bread all together and it was the toaster! Is there anything else I may be overlooking. What about cutting bread for my family or making my kids sandwiches on non gluten-free bread. Could that affect me?
  18. I am a newbie, gluten-free for a month, and have had continued problems with stomach pain and upset as well as fatique. I have been eliminating other things from my diet, dairy, soy, but have continued to not feel well. This morning I read a blog in which a woman talked about using a separate toaster for her gluten-free bread! Is this important? I have...
  19. I have been gluten free for almost a month now and have had many improvements in my health. One puzzling thing is that I have started having periods again after an abrupt menopause last May. Can going gluten and dairy free change your hormones and start your menstrual periods again?
