When ordering vitamins/supplements I always check to make sure they are marked gluten free. When reading the label on the echinacea bottle it is noted that those with auto immune conditions should not take echinacea. I never noticed this precaution before. Does anyone have additional information? Can celiacs ingest echinacea? Thanks.

My b/f and I were planning to eat at TGI Fridays this Wednesday evening with friends. I read on this message board somewhere that the Jack Daniels BBQ was okay. For some reason I thought that that was definitely a no-no. Does anyone have a gluten free listing for TGI Fridays? Thanks so much.

Whole Foods Bakery - chocolate brownies, chocolate chip cookies and pecan pie --- the bread is not so good ---- dense. We have purchased the corn bread but have not tried it yet. The food is shipped to the stores frozen but does not taste like it has been frozen. Tastes fresh. The baker for Whole Foods was diagnosed with celiac so now he is head baker at their bakery in NC. There is one in Annapolis, MD --- Pamela's flour mix is good - I make pecan waffles and hot cakes --- I actually like that mix better than any containing gluten. I make my daughters homemade waffles using this mix and they love it (and they do not have celiac).

My b/f has celiac and we get our vitamins from Vitacost.com. Great prices, no fillers --- We get the NSI brand and they are gluten free. Great company to deal with (I do not have celiac but I get low carb products from them) and I have always paid $4.95 for s/h. The products usually arrive within 5 days from ordering. Good luck.

Thank you so much ---- I did check the Rosacea site and it did not appear to be that --- he even checked with the doctor who believes it is some type of intolerance to alcohol. Not that my b/f was/is a big fan of drinking but every so often it would be nice to have a sip - lol Anyway, the scary part for me is to see how inflammed he became after only a sip and this just started out of the blue. No big deal, he can refrain from alcohol but it would be nice to solve the mystery - he did have Baileys in hot chocolate one evening with no side effects ??? Thanks for responding. I am new at this and will learn the proper way to reply to these threads . . . . I guess I will have to start over on a new thread to inform all of the great chocolate chip cookies and brownies that Whole Foods (once known as Fresh Fields) has at their in-store bakery. I think my b/f likes them better than mine.
Thanks again. Debbie

Because of this he does not drink. I just thought that perhaps someone else may have had the same symptoms and would be able to steer me in some direction to research. He has seen an allergist with no luck. As you are aware, he has given up a lot ---- with minimal complaints. I am just trying to do a little research and maybe find some answers. I am sure he would appreciate being able to kick back some day and relax and perhaps have a gluten free beer. My research continues.

This is my first time corresponding via this site --- You all have been educating me the past three years and I thank you -- My boyfriend was diagnosed with celiac over three years ago and has been craving and desperately misses "real" pizza and beer. I am so tempted to order a case of this beer for him as a surprise but am hesitant. Within the last 6 months whenever he drinks any alcohol - potato based vodka, etc. or even a small sip of wine -- his face turns RED - eyes first then forehead and cheekbones --- and he burns for at least an hour. I have been researching but have no idea what would cause this - - - - I am afraid that this beer may do the same. Has anyone experienced this --- It is painful and embarrassing to him so he just does not drink - thanks.

Thank you very much. What seemed complicated is now understandable. I think we will just stay away from the echinacea. Thanks again.
