  1. Thank you so much for your response! I have been doing some additional reading around this forum and the phrase "silent celiac" has proven very helpful in finding similar information. I guess I was just hoping to have some kind of document, like a "tip sheet" to send to family members to help them know what needs to be done. Thanks again, and good luck...
  2. I should add that the research doesn't necessarily have to be about cross contamination - it could just be about whether there is in fact a safe amount of gluten that can be safe (even if just trace amounts). Thanks!
  3. These were my numbers: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA . . . 15 Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgG . . . 33 High t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA . . . 16 High t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA . . . 12 High Endomysial Antibody IgA . . . 4. Hi everyone, I'm less than a week into being gluten-free - got the biopsy results yesterday confirming celiac. My family is being very supportive - everyone wants to know what they need to do to help keep me safe. The biggest debate right now is how much of a danger cross contamination really is. I've never had outward symptoms of celiac. The only...
  5. Hi, I was in a similar position in that both by primary doctor and the gastroenterolotist agreed that the blood work was conclusive for celiac. They wanted the biopsy done, though, and I'm glad I did it. It just made everything official for me (I didn't have any outward symptoms, so it was a big shock to find out about the diagnosis), and I think that...
  6. Hi, I posted here a few weeks ago after my doctor told me that blood tests revealed Celiac Disease. I didn't even know he was testing me (I haven't had any of the normal symptoms) so it came as quite a shock. The reason he did the test is that I have a complicated medical history: Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (dx 2006), Thyroid Cancer (dx last month - total...
  7. I will certainly eliminate gluten as soon as the test is done, but I haven't had any physical symptoms - my primary doctor tested for this because of the various other issues I had, plus my anemia. Thanks for the response!
  8. Thank you both for your responses. I'm 35 years old, which is part of the "problem" - it's really upsetting for me (and probably even more for my family) to be facing so many serious issues. In fact, I'm trying to find some kind of diagnostician at one of the major medical centers who might be able to investigate further in case there's something we're...
  9. Hi, I found out from my doctor on Friday that I have Celiac Disease. This is one week after finding out I have Thyroid Cancer and four years after finding out I have Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Needless to say, I'm a bit of a mess. Specifically, here are my results: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA . . . 15 Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgG . . . 33 High t...
