  1. it's only been three days, so its hard to tell, but I've had less nausea than usual thus far. fingers crossed I guess (though whether im hoping it works or doesn't work, im not entirely sure lol)
  2. my father is a gastoenterologist, so he's sort of bullying his way into getting them to do these things lol. though he says he doubts it is celiac because of the blood test and thinks its probably an allergy or something.
  3. and I clicked on the wrong section of the forum... sigh...
  4. hello, I tested in december for celiac, but it came up negative. however, it came up positive for several vitamin and mineral deficiencies (iron, zinc, vit. d). the numbers for the celiac test were firmly in normal range though. I got tested again to see how the iron levels were doing, and we redid the celiac test too just to double check. I still haven...
  5. I don't know... I managed to be nauseated and ravenously hungry at the same time. then I'd eat and immediately regret it. so the hunger isn't new, but the greatly decreased nausea is a nice change.
  6. i live on campus in an apartment with my brother. so I have a kitchen, but very little by the way of supplies and foods as of right now. but those ideas sound pretty good, I'm going to at least have to get some potatoes. thanks!
  7. Hi I just started the gluten-free diet yesterday because even though I came up negative on the blood test, my symptoms are so indicative of celiac (diarrhea, constipation, nausea, gas, fatigue, malabsorbtion, gas) that we decided I'd try the diet anyway and see if it helped. but now my problem is that none of the foods I am eating are filling. within an...
  8. what are larabars?
  9. I'd just like to say that learning this has officially made my day. I just tried my first slice of gluten-free bread, and it almost made me cry, so the fact that I can still have nutella came as a very pleasant surprise.
  10. so the cafeteria's gluten free food made me want to cry. a friend swiped me in since I don't have enough gluten free food to last the week, and the stuff is just so gross. so now i need ideas for cheap, fast, easy foods I can have. they also have to be pretty low fat and sugar, as both have been upsetting my stomach a lot lately.
  11. quick question: does chocolate have gluten in it?
  12. I do know how to cook, I was just sort of stressed because very few of the ingredients I have on hand are gluten free. however, I'm going to go shopping for a few supplies within the next two or three days, and I just found out that the cafeteria on campus has a gluten free section. So it isn't seeming so bad today.
  13. well, I'm in college, so I have about a cup of dry rice, a couple of yogurt cups, and some frozen veggies. thats basically it.
  14. Hi, I was just told today that I would have to be gluten free. I was just wondering, just how necessary is it that i cut out everything with gluten? or could I just cut out bread and pasta and other obvious gluten sources? because i don't really have gluten free food in my house at the moment.
