  1. Same thing happens to me. I've been gluten free for a little over a month now, but if I accidentally end up eating some gluten I get really sick. Last night, I made a bad decision to have 2 bites of cake at a wedding and I got so sick. Good motivation not to do it again.
  2. I don't think I am. I might try eliminating it though if I don't get completely better. Maybe it was just random, or maybe my stomach is upset by my cold. That happens sometimes. Or maybe even just taking cold medicine on a semi-empty stomach. I guess I'd just been feeling so good the past little while of being gluten-free that I wanted to pin it on gluten...
  3. Just looked the ingredients up on Kraft's website - modified food starch might contain gluten. Good to know. Thanks!
  4. For years I've had C then D then a few days of C, etc. I always thought it was just me. I was either C or going multiple times a day. My docs never thought that was enough reason to test me for gluten/celiac until I specifically asked for it. Now that I'm going gluten-free, I've been C, but I think my system will stabilize and just needs a little time...
  5. Good evening! Thanks for all the help so far, people. I feel today like I'm having a gluten- type reaction. (I don't want to be gross, but I'm bloated and have had bathroom issues along with stomach pain.) I have thought back to everything I ate today (and because I am suffering from a cold, there wasn't much) and I can't think of anything I ate that...
  6. My celiac tests came back within the normal range (so negative) so I suspect I'm gluten intolerant. However, I am low on several vitamins and have been anemic off and on for years. So I would say yes.
  7. Like it sounds like with you, it seems like so many dots from childhood are being connected to a possible gluten problem, though I think it must have gotten more severe over the years. From bad excema on my arms from the time I was 8 (hoping it clears up soon!), to anemia off and on from my teenage years, to people thinking I was faking stomach problems....
  8. I've been gluten free for almost 2 weeks (not counting tonight which was a big mistake). One thing I've noticed is I feel like I have almost no appetite. I'll force myself to eat because otherwise I feel very weak. But I'll be hungry and eat in the morning, and it's like 2 in the afternoon (7 hours later) and I'm feeling shaky from not eating, but not hungry...
  9. I tested negative, but think I'm gluten intolerant. Today, after almost 2 weeks on a strict no-gluten diet, I had some. (I was at a rehearsal dinner so not many choices.) I figured it was just lightly breaded and better than the other options - oh my goodness. I think my body had gotten used to not being on gluten. Within literally 15 minutes (from 1 piece...
  10. I got my blood work back today and it came back that I do not have celiac disease. However, my doctor agreed with me that with a week without gluten and I'm feeling soooo much better (no more naseau and much less bloating - I look about 3 months pregnant instead of 5.... lol) I should keep doing the gluten-free diet. He said it can't hurt anything. So...
  11. Hi, everyone! I'd appreciate any advice as I'm really new to this and have been reading a variety of sources. I have been having symptoms since last summer and they got progressively worse. In October, I started undergoing tests for all kinds of GI problems. Everything came up normal. But they never tested for celiac. My doctor tested for celiac via...
  12. A lot of your symptoms sound very similar to mine. I get my bloodwork results on Monday, but my doctor said they aren't always 100% accurate (especially I guess since I'd already been cutting way back on gluten when I suspected that might be the problem). So I've been gluten free for the past week while waiting for the diagnosis and a lot of my symptoms...
