ARCHIVED Need Help With What To Feed Toddlermytummyhurts posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs My son (18 months old) has not been diagnosed with celiac disease (I have though), but he does have a wheat allergy. Plus he's allergic to eggs, pecans and now may be lactose or fructose intolerant. He also had a liver transplant when he was a month old and that has slowed his eating progress. He used to gag on more solid foods, but is doing better now. He...

ARCHIVED Ghirardelli Peppermint Barkmytummyhurts posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications Trying to figure out if it's gluten free. The info on their site isn't very helpful. It only talks about soy and milk as allergens. Here's the ingredients list: sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, unsweetened chocolate, nonfat dry milk, soy lecithin, corn flakes, yellow corn flour, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil (cottonseed, soybean), natural...

ARCHIVED Need Dip For Veggies That's Is gluten-free And Dairy Freemytummyhurts posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips I'm having a party on Saturday and my cousin is eating gluten free and dairy free. Does anybody have any ideas for something she can dip veggies into that meets both those requirements? Thanks!

ARCHIVED Garlic Jim's Gluten Free Pizzamytummyhurts replied to celiac-mommy's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants The one on South Hill didn't come up when I asked for gluten free locations, but I knew they offered it due to info from friends. So, I'm not sure how up to date their gluten free locations are on the web page.

ARCHIVED Garlic Jim's Gluten Free Pizzamytummyhurts replied to celiac-mommy's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants I went to the Garlic Jim's on South Hill this past Sunday and got the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. It was really yummy!! I would recommend it. I saved the leftovers and it was gone in less than a day (with just me eating it). It's one of those pizzas that tasted even better as a leftover. The crust was really thin, but good. It was kind of spendy, $18.99+tax...

ARCHIVED Garlic Jim's Gluten Free Pizzamytummyhurts replied to celiac-mommy's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants I don't know where you live exactly, but have you been to Haley's Corner Bakery in Kent? They have gluten-free pizza and yummy goodies. It is exclusively gluten-free, so no worries about cc. The Garlic Jim's on South Hill just started doing this and the one in Lakewood has for a while. I personally haven't had one, but I guess they all go through training...

ARCHIVED Does Anybody Else Have This Weird Issue With Wheat?mytummyhurts posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease I have this weird mental issue regarding wheat as a decoration. Being that it's fall and I'm shopping for decorations, they have those cute little wheat stalks. And I like the way they look. But I can't help thinking they are "evil" and I can't bring myself to buy them like I'm somehow being untrue to my celiac self. (Although I know they would cause me no...

We just got back from Maui and here was my experience. The waitstaff down there seem to know more than the average, probably because they get a wide variety of people and more celiacs than most places. All of these places are in Lahaina. Cheeseburger in Paradise. The waitress said their fries were not gluten-free, so I just got a bacon cheeseburger...

Oh! I'm going to Maui in March too! Does anybody have restaurant advice?

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is a few blocks from there and it's supposed to be really good. I've never been there, I don't actually go up to Seattle a lot, but I've heard other gluten-free people say that they are helpful and the food is pretty simple and made from scratch, so they know what's going in it. Have fun on your cruise!

Does anybody have any ideas for eating on Whidbey Island in WA? We're going there next weekend and I need some options. Thanks!
-
To make them cheaper. The pet foods that I've seen that are not this way are expensive.

We just got back, I had a pretty good experience. They didn't have a dedicated fryer, so I didn't get to eat the fries. Gf4life-Is their seasoning not okay? I thought it was. The girl did pretty good, the manager didn't come see me though, that's okay I guess. I just got a lettuce wrapped burger, it was good. I just like being able to go out to eat with everyone...

The link did work for me, thanks. It's great when people share there good experiences as well as bad, so we can know where to go. The list you posted from the e-mail will help me a lot to pick what is safe. So, do I understand correctly that their fries are safe, if in a dedicated fryer, and what bothered your stomach was the soy in the oil?

Thank you! I tried to do a search, but couldn't get it to work.

Has anybody tried to eat at Red Robin? Do you know if any of there stuff is gluten-free?
-
	Yes

ARCHIVED Airborne Cold Remedymytummyhurts replied to mandigirl1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications I just took this yesterday and I got sooooo sick from it. I don't think it was because of gluten though, it didn't feel like I was glutened. But it made me throw up, alot! I heaved almost continually for three hours, I had to go to the doctor to get a shot to stop throwing up. It was a terrible experience. If I never see this stuff again it will be too soon...

I will honestly say that I haven't read the last two pages of this post, because I've spent the last 45 minutes reading the first 6 and now I want to go to bed, but I want to say something first. I will start out by saying that I'm sorry some of you have had so many problems with your doctors and I'm wondering if it's the places you live or what that...

I eat Amy's frozen mac and cheese all the time. (I don't like to cook.) And I first I didn't really like them, but I kept eating them and now I do. Although, some people have been glutened by Amy's frozen foods because they are processed in a facility that does things with wheat. I'm not very sensitive, so I haven't noticed anything. I also eat the pizza...

I'm getting pretty sick of all the doctor bashing on here. I understand that some of you have had some pretty bad experiences and I'm sorry about that. But not all doctors are bad, some of them are quite good and work really hard to help their patients and they don't deserve to be rolled into one category with the bad ones. I was diagnosed in my first trip...

ARCHIVED Would You Cure Yourself If You Could....mytummyhurts replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Those side effects may happen, they don't usually. I know because I'm on four drugs right now, they all list things like nausea, headaches, dizziness and I have had none of those. Plus, even if you have side effects when you start out they usually subside after your body adjusts. And, most people who get side effects from some drugs say the side effects are...

ARCHIVED Would You Cure Yourself If You Could....mytummyhurts replied to Jnkmnky's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease I would definitely do it, unless it was something complicated or dangerous. I.e. surgery or a drug with a lot of side effects. I really miss being able to be "normal" and go out to dinner without worry. I'm not very good with food, even before this I had issues. In that I don't cook and when I think about cooking or preparing food I become extremely stressed...

ARCHIVED Weird Question:mytummyhurts replied to GlutenFreeAl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease Now that you mention it, yes! Wow! I hadn't really thought about why. But I used to pee all the time and now I only do a few times a day. Hmmm, cool.
