  1. Thank you Sylvia and Gemini!! I so appreciate all your input! It has really helped me today!!! Gemini, thank you for your clarification on how gluten is ingested. I am so thankful for this forum and all the people who are having to live the gluten free journey. It helps so much to have people to talk to who understand! Thanks again and I hope you...
  2. That's a great point!!! Thanks again so much. So, anything that can be ingested in your mouth (i.e. lotion on your hands could be if you eat something with your hands, or lipstick obviously) is the real danger? I think my foundation has gluten because it is Revlon. I just bought it for $13 ugh... and am wondering if I should replace it. I so appreciate...
  3. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your response!!! I know you are not trying to minimize the need to be careful, so no worries. I am already thinking about the expense it will be to replace makeup, shampoos, etc. Thanks for your encouragement!! I can't wait to get my nails done again.. haha!! Celiacs need to have some fun in life, right? !! LOL...
  4. Hello! 2 weeks ago today I found out I have celiac disease. I am gluten free (to the best of my knowledge) since then! I have noticed a big difference in that I have no more bloating, gas and much less heart burn/stomach pain (it is still there but less than before). I am thrilled to be on this new journey to feeling better! I have been very discouraged...
  5. Lucky, I am so sorry you are going through this!! I am sorry you have to wait for your biopsy. I had to wait 2 months! ugh! I am pretty sure your biopsy will come back positive like mine. Mine wasn't even as positive as some are, but the results were just enough that the doc thinks I have it. Today is my first day to go gluten free. I think I am already...
  6. Nora, you were right! My doctor called tonight and confirmed the diagnosis. He said he couldn't be 100% sure, but based on some abnormalities in my biopsies along with the high ttg in the bloodwork, he feels almost certain that I have celiac. He put me on a strict gluten free diet and urged me to have my children tested, as well as my parents and brother...
  7. Hello everyone! Here is the update from my endoscopy results. The doctor called me tonight and said he DOES think I have celiac disease. He said he can't say 100% but based on some abnormalities on my biopsies along with my high ttg in the bloodwork, he thinks I have it. He urged me to make sure my children get a blood test, as well as my parents and...
  8. Hello!! Thank you BOTH so much for answering my post! I would have replied sooner but didn't realize the notification had been turned off for my email. Anyway, I will let you know what I find out. I am going to try going gluten free to see if it helps. The pain I have been experiencing off and on over the last 5 years or so is in the upper center abdominal...
  9. I can't thank you all enough for replying to my post! I will definitely let you all know what my biopsy results are! This forum has been so helpful. Thanks again!!!
  10. Here are my celiac panel results: IgA: Sufficient Gliadin IgA Ab: 8 Tis.Transglut.Ab IgA: 75 (Positive is indicated as >30) That is all my test results are telling me and I am trying to figure out if I can be celiac if my IgA and Gliadin IgA Ab numbers seem to be in the normal range, yet my ttg numbers are 75. Thanks for your help! I had...
  11. Hello everyone! I am updating from my previous post. I had my endoscopy yesterday! The procedure was surprisingly EASY and not to be dreaded in case any of you have to get one. My endoscopy looked normal but the doc still took several biopsies to send off of my small intestine so they can check for celiac damage. I am slightly confused because he said...
  12. Thank you so much! That is great advice. I will definitely try that!
  13. One more thing.... does Tis.Transglut.Ab IgA mean the TOTAL IgA? I had seen that you need a total when dealing with this panel. I wasn't sure if my number of 75 was just my TTG, or my totals?
  14. Thank you SO much for your quick response! I have been researching TTG and it does appear that high TTG levels are all that is needed to suggest celiac, regardless of the other numbers. I am trying not to go nuts over it as I have to wait 6 weeks before my endoscopy. LOL Hopefully the endoscopy biopsy results will not take long to come back. I hate continuing...
  15. Hello! I am new to this community and need help figuring out my bloodwork. My GI said that because of my high ttg levels I may have celiac disease and will follow up with intestinal biopsies during my endoscopy scheduled for early July. I know that high ttg levels are a marker for celiac, but I am wondering what the other results of the panel mean in relationship...
