    Would you request a biopsy at this point? Do we need to up her gluten for that? I agree with you that she will learn to cope if she has Celiac. She is 9 so this is about the worst thing she can imagine. Thanks so much for the response!

    My husband is an orthodontist, and he checked ingredients on the glue and molds they use after our youngest was diagnosed.. Nothing had gluten. I'd ask again, explaining it like a peanut allergy as mentioned above, but I think you'll be fine!

    I had a similar experience last month. A relative had brought us muffins and gluten-free muffins and I gave our daughter the wrong one. She had no reaction for a day and a half. Then, we had four solid days of GI issues. I know it was the only gluten she had consumed. celiac disease is so odd.

    One more thing... There are major pluses to being diagnosed so young. Harper was a new kid after a week or so on the diet. She went from a crying, constantly unhappy kid to the happiest spunkiest little thing ever. Plus, they'll have no memory of gluten foods.

We decided not to do the biopsy since we have a strong family history of celiac, and I was uncomfortable putting her under for the procedure.     Have you had your thyroid tested? Everything you listed sounds very similar to my symptoms of hypothyroidism.

    I am definitely not eating enough then. I'm still kind of hoping my symptoms are temporary from the diet change, and I don't have it. Better to know for sure, though.
