"I do, however, strive for accuracy in information (as best we know it) for the newly diagnosed." Okay, here is a new research out there providing cross-reactivity to corn. And cross-reactivity to lactose has already been established. Open Original Shared Link Research on other grains will follow. Just wanted to update you on your strive...

I apologize to the person who started the thread and everybody else, but I do have to reply to this. This is going to be my last reply, so I hope this is a good excuse. "Clearly you are unmoved by proven science and stuck on this idea" "If you choose to ignore it, that's your personal business". "You have got to be joking." The tone of the statements...

"I believe this research is ongoing on in many countries just as we discuss it here"--again, WHERE EXACTLY? Do you have ANY SUBSTANTIAL evidence to support this statement? I know that gluten intolerance is being researched in Sweden. I also know that in Italy they are working on producing gluten-free wheat. I have read about it from Dr. Vikki's website...

Okay, I am very familiar with the leaky gut syndrome (just listened to an hour lecture about it) and here is my question: why only certain foods create hyper-sensitivity in your (and my) body? Why don't I know at least one celiac who developed hiper-sensitivity to meat or cruciferous vegetables? I too developed hiper-sensitivity to many different foods...

I would love to know your opinion: What, according to peer reviewed research, causes "secondary intolerance"? How do celiacs get thouse antibodies? I have been drinking milk and having dairy producst all my life and right after going gluten free, how did I get so many antibodies? Why some people who go on a gluten-free diet develop lactose intolerance...

I love science. I love reading scientific articles. Let me ask your opinion as well: what, according to peer reviewed research, causes "secondary intolerance"? Why some people who go on a gluten-free diet develop lactose intolerance, grain intolerance, soy intolerance, etc.? Why does it happen as soon as they go off gluten? Why don't they develop intolerance...

Great, then what, according to peer reviewed research, causes "secondary intolerance"? Why some people who go on a gluten-free diet develop lactose intolerance, grain intolerance, soy intolerance, etc.? Why does it happen as soon as they go off gluten? Why don't they develop intolerance of meat or vegetables? I would like to see at least one person who...

Here are the facts: 1. The term cross-reactivity does exist. Cross-reactivity to gluten is being researched. 2. Some people develop gluten-like response to foods that do not have gluten, especially grains, dairy and starches. There should be more research, and there should be more peer-reviewed articles in the future. I believe this research on gluten...

I am beating up other board members? That is a very strong statement. I would like to see some supportive details for this statement, as I may. Preferably, with my quotes where I am beating other board members up. I have used the term cross-reactivity and I have made a point to another person that such thing does exist. If there is no cross-reactivity...

As far as I know, there is only one test that is developed. How many tests do you need? Yes, there is such a thing as cross-reactivity, it can be tested and the mechanics are known. What are you trying to say? That there is no such thing?

Why do I have to do all the searching? There are like TONS of articles and it takes time for me to look them up. Here: 1. Open Original Shared Link 2. Open Original Shared Link 3. Open Original Shared Link There are more, but even if I dig up one million articles, I know I am not going to persuade you. You can believe whatever you want to believe...

I agree with Mushroom completely (by the way, when I saw Mushroom's profile for the first time I thought - wow, I wonder what this person eats - there is not much left). I found that there is a lot of research (very scientific by the way) that backs up Mushroom's statement, but Mushroom (not sure he or she) described it from a medical point of view where...

I found one of the sites, but she has like 143 videos on it - I am not sure which one I watched. Here is the site: Open Original Shared Link

Hi, the first two weeks after being diagnosed gluten-intolerant I have spent on the internet reading and listening to everything regarding the dangers of gluten. I also developed intolerance to ... pretty much everything. Do you know that I cannot consume gluten-free foods? My body reacts to them as if they have gluten. I cannot have rice and potatoes...

"ouch, potatoes, rice? those are my favs, that I thought were gluten free." They ARE gluten free. What I am trying to explain that there is a thing that is called cross-reactivity. I have it, you might not have it. If you want to eat rice and potatoes - that's fine. Just make sure to eliminate ALL GLUTEN from your food and non-food sources. I would...

I was taking vitamins for nails and hair. It stopped the hair loss, but my vitamins were just masking the symptoms. My palpitations and night sweats went away after the first month on the Paleo diet (no gluten and no grains). Rice does not have gluten, you are correct. However, there is a thing called cross-reactivity. Do you know why most gluten sensitive...

Everybody has different symptoms. Some people don't even have the symptoms while being gluten intolerant. Do you want to know what my symptoms are? I am very very tired all the time. Like totally exhausted. Palpitations at night. Restless sleep. Night sweats. Heartburn. Hair loss. Fragile nails. That's what I had. Nobody in the million years could have...

ARCHIVED Kinda Don't Know What To Do
vb10 replied to Gfresh404's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I wrote a really long reply, but it disappeared somewhere in the cyberspace... So I am not going to re-write it, sorry. Just two points: 1. I know how you feel. You want to be like everybody else, drink, eat pizza, hang out with cute girls. Hey, this is totally understandable. If you want, I can give you pick up lines that really work But... -

Thanks for the link, I checked it out. I eat less foods that are allowed by the GAPS diet. I basically follow a very restrictive version of GAPS-allowed foods that do not bother my stomach. I bought some bones so I am going to make a bone broth. I am making sauerkraut as we speak. As for probiotics, not sure which ones are gluten-safe. My questions... -
ARCHIVED How Long Will It Take For Me To Get My Energy Levels Back?
vb10 replied to vb10's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I eat around 1800-2000 calories. I get fat from meat/chicken/fish and mostly tubers (carrots, rutabagas, beets) and fruit. I never ever took any prescription drugs or NSAIDS. I don't drink or smoke. The only bad things I did was eating chocolate or desserts almost daily. I actually asked my doctor that question. He does not know, but I think... -

I haven't decided to cut all of them out - my body did. It always tells me (within minutes) if it does not like something. I cannot have avocados, nuts, some apples and anything coconut. My body does not accept too many things, but it craves spinach, parsnips, Brussel sprouts, Chinese cabbage, and grass-fed lamb. I used to be a chocoholic. I don't know who... -

vb10 replied to vb10's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh, I forgot to say - I also eat some fruit (pomegranates, persimmons and blueberries) and grass-fed lamb. What nutrients am I missing? The reason I don't eat anything else is because it does not agree with my stomach. I only eat what my stomach can handle. -
