  1. Although I have not monitored it, I also get really cold when I am glutened. I also have an autoimmune condition (or two...). I have fibromyalgia and have been suffering from autoimmune hives since early December. Interesting... Next time I am unfortunate enough to be glutened I will take my temp. I hope you feel better soon. So tired of "just take...
  2. You guys are awesome! Thank you all for the great advice and humor! I loved it all! I've been ok actually. A lot better than I expected. Not sure what curbed the effects, but I definitely wasn't slammed as hard as I expected with a reaction. Of course things are a little "off", but I guess I'm sort of used to that. How interesting about the l-glutamine...
  3. I have been gluten-free for around 18 months, and it is now to the point where I don't think about it 100% of the time anymore. I have gotten in a decent routine, and am pretty comfortable with it. That being said, I was glutened today with an amount larger than ever before and got scared and felt really alone. It was awful. I had gotten away from...
  4. Thanks so much! They were a goldfish type cracker. I am usually so good about checking labels and things, but they were in a boxed lunch type thing, and I thought the outside of the box said it was gluten free. It turns out a different "flavor" lunch was the gluten free one, and only some items in this one were gluten-free. Oh well... The most frustrating...
  5. I was led to believe some crackers were gluten free, and did not find out until after I ate the entire snack sized bag that this was not true. Three weeks ago I had one piece of elbow pasta, without knowing, and it produced a week of GI symptoms and a rash on my face that I still haven't gotten rid of. I tried to vomit unsuccessfully, and am now having...
  6. I will keep you up to date. I also have just read that you can buy the microorganisms seperately and add them to your own medium which often times is wheat bran, but you can also use sawdust, or rice hulls. Not sure where I would get these things, but might be worth looking into in the future. I am sure it would end up being cheaper too!
  7. That is exactally what I was thinking, but thought I'd see if anyone else had some insight into it. I figure that the compost process will break down the wheat as well as everything else, so it shouldn't be an issue as long as I am careful handling it. My laundry room is right off of my kitchen, and seems like the perfect place for this sort of thing. ...
  8. Ok, so first I apologize if this has too much to do with being gluten-free for this area of the forum, but I wasn't sure where would be most appropriate. I am looking to start a bokashi composting system in my kitchen for fertilizing my garden. The composter is ordered, and I can't wait for it to be delivered. Unfortunately I just realized that the anaerobic...
  9. So, day 3 gluten free.. and I swear I feel lighter. Not like I've lost weight, just not as foggy and heavy. Pathology results came in today- negative. I don't care, I'm going to continue gluten free. I have to admit I'm a little disappointed at the results, but even the gastroenterologist said that it was possible for me to be negative for celiac but...
  10. ...Waiting for the results. The doc said that he didn't see any clear evidence of Celiac, but we will see what the pathology results look like. Interesting that they also found a medium sized hiatal hernia. I'm now on day 2 gluten-free and intend on staying that way regardless of the pathology results. =)
  11. What is it about the report that makes you think that it's already progressed to Lymphoma? I have yet to have my biopsy, but I am a medical professional (not a doctor). I am used to reading reports, and based on the overall diagnosis listed, it sounds like inflammed bowel with signs of celiac to me. "Lymphocytic enteritis" is an inflammation of the...
  12. Thank you everyone for your support. I have started using the proactive refining lotion only since the whole line is too harsh for my skin. I have also started using hydrocortisone lotion a few times a day. It already looks better, and is definately alot easier to put up with. I also realized that most lotions and cosmetics have the ingrediants...
  13. I am currently undergoing testing for Celiac, and have a endoscopy/biopsy scheduled in 12 days. I have continued to eat gluten, and have been making a point to eat some at each meal. For the last 3 months, my face has been breaking out (only on the right side) and I assumed it was acne even though I haven't had a breakout like this in years (I am 3...
  14. So the big day is tomorrow! I am finally going to see the Gastroenterologist. Any advice? Should I prepare a list of symptoms? Any questions I should be sure to ask? I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm excited to get this over with! =)
  15. That much I do know.. but thanks anyway nora_n! I was on it about a year ago for a few months and it stopped working, so they took me off of it, but now they want to try again. It's a bigger dose this time, and although I am good about taking it every night, the fatigue doesn't seem to be going away like it did before. It's been about a month...
