  1. Thanks for all the responses. I think maybe you're right about him just not wanting to go gluten-free and now he's got a good "reason". He's a firm believer that the kind of food you eat (junk versus healthy) doesn't really make that much difference. (He doesn't eat very good and is very healthy...so far)Good health is more a state of mind. Since I'm still...
  2. I've been gluten-free for 9 months now and I'm getting more and more sensitive.(And feeling better). My husband just told me today he has no intention of going gluten free with me, even though he has to be SO careful, because he doesn't want to "mess up his system". He says a friends gastrointologist (or whatever the intestinal dr.s are called)told him EVERYONE...
  3. Thank you for that suggestion! Why the skin next to the lesion and not the lesion itself?
  4. I have Leaky Gut, but not diagnosed celiac although I suspect I am. As far as the Leaky Gut goes I'll be interested to hear what others have to say about it. My Dr. (naturopath) has been working with me trying to heal my gut by using various herbs and staying gluten free. I will get tested again 9months after the first test to check my progress. My biggest...
  5. Hmmm.....so do a lot of people say they are celiac when they don't know for sure but suspect?
  6. Thank you for your response. I should mention that my grandchildren are home schooled so that's not an issue (at least right now). Also my son shows some symptoms, so I had his blood tested for antibodies, which came back negative. So, in spite of his symptoms he's choosing to continue to eat gluten because "he's fine". I've had people ask me "Are...
  7. I am self-diagnosed gluten intolerant as of 12 months ago (after 44 yrs. of health problems). Very sensitive to cc so I'm very strict. My daughter was self-diagnosed 6 months ago and is also very sensitive to gluten at this point. Now, two of her four children are showing symptoms, one especially. After two weeks off gluten her rash, stomach aches, cough...
  8. I love it! Thanks I needed the laugh!!
  9. Popcorn has always given me a headache if I eat too much, don't know why, but it's never effected me like this! I'm feeling pretty lousy right now and I was doing so well! I agree it might just be too high in fiber.
  10. That sounds pretty good! I'll have to try it. Thanks!
  11. I've noticed that too, I don't do well with fatty, rich or greasy foods. Popcorn on it's own isn't too bad, I need to limit it, but boy when I add the butter, then it's bad. I'd forgotten how much it bothered me. I'm bummed because I've felt awesome for a whole week now!
  12. I don't have diverticulitis, but I'm thinking the hulls are just too....scratchy. I feel like my intestines are being chewed up.
  13. I ate home popped corn last night, with butter, and now this morning my stomach is rebelling, slight headache and I wish I could throw up. These are not my typical glutenized symptoms. I've been gluten free for 6 months and am working with a naturopath to get my gut healed. Is popcorn too harsh to digest? If I butter it, it's much worse. Just sounded so...
  14. I think you just gave yourself the best advice there is: get off and stay off the gluten, you'll feel so much better!
  15. I started to write that I only cough after eating gluten, but sometimes I cough all night long. I'll look into it. Thanks!
  16. A thermos! Now why didn't I think of that? My mom used to send soup with me to school for my lunch. I'll try that. Thanks!
  17. I've had adrenal fatigue and low thyroid in the past, so my energy level has been worse, but it still isn't the greatest. When I eat I feel full, but then hungry again in about an hour. I'm eating every two hours at this point, whole foods, lots of protein probably don't eat enough veggies as raw give me a stomache ache and it's hard to eat cooked veggies...
  18. Hmmmm.....I never thought of that, maybe I'm allergic to...gluten? is that possible? or maybe just wheat? All of the coughing reactions have been to wheat, don't know if I do that with rye or barley. This reaction started after I went gluten-free. I might get up the nerve and try a kernel of barley and see if I cough or not. The last gluten I ate was rye...
  19. I've been gluten free for about 6 months, not diagnosed but severely sensitive to gluten. My daughter is as well. I have the fatigue, body aches, brain fog and sometimes a stomache ache, but my immediate symptom is violent coughing, chest congestion and an earache, the other things come later. This happens within minutes of eating even the smallest amount...
  20. I've been advised to keep a food diary, seems like such a pain, but I'm rethinking that. I can see it would be a real help right about now. It's hard to remember what I ate 2-3 days ago or how I felt a week ago when I ate something. So I think I'll start doing that, thanks for the advice!
  21. Wow, I eat a lot of nuts... this is getting a bit overwhelming. I'm supposed to be gaining weight, but with all these restrictions and not feeling well it's sure hard. Hmmm maybe more soups...
  22. Thanks so much! I'll try your suggestions. Guess I was just eating too much too soon.
  23. Thankyou everyone for all the info. After reading everyones responses, I think maybe my problem is I'm eating gluten free, whole foods, but maybe the wrong kinds...too hard on my digestion. I've been eating a lot of avocadoes this last week, they taste so good and I thought they would be good for me, but maybe that's one of the reasons I don't feel well....
  24. I'm new here, been gluten free since June 2011, undiagnosed but suspect Celiac due to family issues. My question is: is it normal to get more and more sensitive as time goes on? Now even a crumb effects me, I don't eat anything if the word "spices" is on the label, etc. Also, I'm becoming sensitive to other foods as well. No more sugar for me, not even...
  25. I'm new to all of this, but does anyone know what it means if a persons total salivary Iga is <5 and the Antigliaden is 4? One Dr. said to figure it out because the total was so low, you have to multiply the Iga by at least 5 to bring it up to low normal and then multiply the antigliaden by that same number which would make it 20. Another Dr. said the...
