  1. Hi there, how are you today? I was in the throngs of getting diagnosed when you were having your problems. I have found that I can't have maize, or anything that has EVER beeen gluten. I have a re-appearing rash...and I either get headaches, or abdo symptoms from crippling pain to constipation. Not fun, I certainly know how you were feeling back then. ...
  2. There are other thoughts in the medical world about different kinds of "gluten". Here is a link to one of those ideas Open Original Shared Link Dr Osbourne says many other grains can act as gluten does in our bodies. I, for example get DH from corn/maize products. It is very difficult to eat anything.
  3. ....and, thinking about it, I am sorry I bit back, though it did sound to me a bit attacking. I had two of my vit D tabs the other day and was amazed at how much extra energy I had that day, will have to see if it is continued or just a fluke.
  4. As I said, best to get a blood test done. Different parts of the world, different seasons, different strength of sunlight!
  5. mmm, maybe there is something else in there then, might not be the corn, I will have to suss that one out
  6. Be careful suggesting sunlight. Some people are very sensitive and can damage in as little as 10 min per day. Also for some reason, I think some people can not metabolise Vit D from the sun. Best to get a blood test done.
  7. I have found that if I have a pig out on corn chips for example I itch like crazy. There is one gluten site that tries to sell you their book, though will let you look at a couple of powerpoints that corn is another type of gluten that can affect people just as much as regular gluten. Don't take my word for it, go look for it.
  8. I, also have been on the self diagnosis/gluten free/ back to gluten challenge/gastroscopy treadmill. Waiting for results, have positive tested for the gene DQ2, though staying on the gluten in case the biopsies are negative, then will ask for the IGa and IGg tests. THEN I am definately going gluten free the majority, anyway because I know how much better...
  9. How were your test results? The smelly stools can be a symptom. With the taco place - watch corn, can affect me.
