  1. I just found out I have Celiac last year, and was told to go on a gluten free diet...I am having a horrible time adjusting...Not only am I having problems because everything costs so much, I feel like I am putting a burden on my husband and the kids because I am spending money that he earns really hard, and he never signed up for this...I am a stay at home...
  2. I saw my GI and he told me that there is no doubt in his mind that I have Celiac. Not only because its hard to get a positive on the test but because I had a positive blood test and my sister has Celiac. He said that he doesn't think an endoscopy is necessary because even if it comes back negative which is can (so he says) even when I have Celiac he will...
  3. I had a positive blood test, and am seeing a GI tomorrow what questions do you ask, what should I expect? IGA 56 >17 Positive TTG 111.6 <20
  4. Thank you, I made an appointment to see a GI who supposedly sees patients with Celiac, and since I don't need a referral for him, I am not even going to tell my doctor. My doctor is trying to tell me that labs make mistakes, but that would be a big coincident especially since my sister has Celiac which was diagnosed with a biopsy. I decided to eat a little...
  5. Would it be smart or not smart to take the written results to a GI on my own? Or should I wait till my doctor figures this out on his own, or should I start a trial diet?
  6. My doctors nurse calls me today and tells me the doctor says your levels are high but he wants to run other tests just to see. I told her I wanted to know what high means and neither her or the doctor would tell me because labs make mistakes. My children's pediatrician once she saw my results today's me I have Celiac especially since my sister was diagnosed...
  7. I am curious, about others...What symptoms did you have? What came from you blood results (numbers, tests, positive/negative)...Did you have a biopsy? (why/why not?)...How old were you when you were diagnosed? How did you find a knowledgeable doctor? Thanks I am just learning about this disease and am curious, about others testing, their iga and ttg levels...
  8. Should I see a regular family doctor or a gastrologist? As I found out from my other posts my blood tests came out positive, so where do I go from now? This is so new to me I am so happy I found you guys
  9. Thank you so much Its just so annoying to be waiting and waiting and waiting. I really want to know as this hair loss has been going on for a long time and I am starting to think I might go bald I never thought celiac can cause this but I guess now I know it can.
  10. Yes there is and they said that anything over 20 is positive but as I said before it wasn't flagged and my doctor didn't call me yet so I am not sure what happened.
  11. I just don't understand because if 20 means over than for iga its under 17 positive and mine is over 17. I typed up the results exactly as they are on my sheet and my doctor is being an ass and not calling me and I am just getting so frustrated. How do I read this?
  12. My sister was diagnosed with celiac when she was 30, I am 22 and trying to find a reason to my hair falling out. My doctor did a lot of tests and everything came out okey except this one, and I don't see him till next week. Can someone tell me if it may mean I have Celiac?
