  3. Totally agree with this. Just take your cooking down to a basic level and don't use anything that you aren't 100 percent sure about. Pretend it's your first day and question EVERYTHING. If you suspect soy, just avoid it altogether too. You can always test it later, once you have your feet on the ground again.

  5. I've decided to do a test for a week. No synthroid or cytomel for one week, let's see if I can at least get rid of the dizziness so that I can function. If I have clear symptoms of low thyroid, I'll maybe take half what the precription calls for and go from there. But I really think I may be able to stop this dizziness so I've got to give it a try.

  10. One more thing - by getting a diagnosis, the only thing that means is that you need to eat gluten free. There's no help, no medicine, no perk of any kind to having the official diagnosis.   13. If you start cutting out foods that you think are making you ill, don't be surprised if the docs cannot diagnose you properly. The endoscopy and colonoscopy will only find celiacs if you've been eating gluten so is your goal to get better, or to prove your condition?   15. I agree. The almonds you had could have had a flavor enhancing coating or just simply sent down the same mass production system as other gluten laden foods.   16. I should add, my doctors all scoff at the gluten free lifestyle. When I told them that my thyroid meds have been lowered due to my gluten-free living, they said that this sometimes happens.   20. A really easy meal I make alot, that hasn't even changed since I went gluten free: Either use cooked brown rice or use instant brown rice. Put that on the bottom of a baking pan. Of course you'll need to add enough water if you are using instant rice. I use better than bullion and a little orange juice in my water to season the rice but just water works...

  22. Until I discovered that I was lactose intolerant, I suffered with waves of nausea every day. Once I eliminated dairy, the nausea is more rare now. I've been gluten free for a few days... maybe two weeks, maybe a little less than that... And today I'm having that nasty nausea.
