  1. OH MY GOSH!! I used to use certain makeups that would make my face itch and turn bright red and I just wanted it off asap! I wonder if it could have been something with the gluten...however, now I wear numerous different kinds. So is most foundation contain gluten?
  2. I am newly gluten free. I understand I cannot eat anything with gluten and have been doing okay with all of that but I am confused about topical gluten, if that even makes sense ha. I have heard two things, you cannot have any makeup made with gluten touch your lips. I have also heard you cannot use anything with gluten on your body period. I do get the DH...
  3. Did you find out what was causing the nausea and thirst?

  4. I am 7 weeks, have been gluten free for a month, and lost 6 lbs. I think it partially has to do with food aversions and the nausea but I haven't weighed this little in years :/
  5. I am 7 weeks pregnant, and went gluten free a little over a month ago due to positive celiac blood panel (Couldn't do the endoscopy due to pregnancy). I have been a little more "regular" but so far no other changes. However, the last two weeks (every day seems worse) I have been so ridiculously thirsty and urinating as soon as I drink something. I'll drink...
  6. I am brand new to celiacs and looking for a good pot roast recipe for the crock pot! I just saw the post on here about lipton onion mix not being gluten free which totally bums me out because that is what I typically use! And beer..but I know that is out now. I am looking for recipes! The grocery stores here carry some gluten free specialty items but not...
  7. As some of you may know, I found out that I had celiac disease about a month ago. I had a positive tTg test which was followed by a positive celiac panel (I don't know the specific test names). Funny thing is I had a upper endoscopy scheduled for last friday, I had to cancel last min due to scheduling conflicts. This stressed me out because I wanted to start...
  8. What are the best websites for gluten free recipes? (I'm new to this)
  9. I am in the same boat. Mine is scheduled for Jan 13th, but my Dr said I could go gluten free a wk before.
  10. I had the radioactive iodine scan done a few months ago. After I had my son (hes 10 months now) I developed hyperthyroidism, the Dr told me that it should have gone back to normal shortly after but it hadn't so he thought I had Graves and sent me for the test. It was normal. They just had me take a pill come back and pointed this machine at my knee for 2...
  11. I also just found out last week that my celiac panel was all positive and now am waiting on a biopsy. I have been sick for years so I totally understand how you feel about ridding yourself of the horrible pain even though you may want to cheat. I have been researching quite a bit, but so far have not started a gluten free diet.
  12. I have a tremor, which was first said to be from the temporary hyperthyroidism I got after having my son but that is now back to normal and my hands are still shakey. I just found out that my entire celiac panel was positive, but I have not gone gluten free yet. ( waiting for endoscopy) So it could be a symptom?
  13. Thank you SOOOOO much Irish! Very helpful!! I also just noticed there is a Gluten Free STORE a couple blocks away so I will definitely be making a visit soon
  14. I had NO idea that they didn't put you under anesthesia. My son has had two this yr and they put him under and I guess I assumed it would be the same thing. Now that I know that I am not as afraid. I will definitely have to talk to my Dr a little further about it, but it was mainly the getting put under thing that I was afraid of. Thanks
  15. I haven't been formally diagnosed with Celiac but my entire celiac panel was positive, the Dr just said he can't formally diagnose without a endoscopy. This brings my first huge worry. I HATE being put under and am completely terrified of it. Even thought I know that this is a routine easy procedure I am scared of being put under. I just wonder if it is really...
  16. So, as some of you know I have been searching or a diagnosis for a couple years and it seems this really is it! I had a positive ttg test (I think that is right) a couple weeks ago and some of you suggested I ask for a celiac panel. Dr called back today and said all those blood tests were positive and the next step is do an upper endoscopy to biopsy and confirm...
  17. Thank you all for the advice. I talked to my Dr and he set me up to get the full Celiac panel tomorrow morning and should have results by the 27th or 28th then I will see my Dr, and if they still think it is Celiacs then I will see a specialist and get the endoscopy. My youngest son (9 months now) has had 2 upper endoscopys so I kind of know what to expect...
  18. I'm in the process of finding out if I have celiacs but I get canker sores quite often. And I have gum pain on and off (The dentist never did figure out why)
  19. Oh okay! I wasn't sure about that, thank you
  20. They are crazy itchy and painful. I haven't changed my diet at all yet, I don't want it to change any of my tests since I haven't been diagnosed yet. Do I need to have the bumps for a skin biopsy? (I assume so but I'm not sure how that works) They typically only stay for a wk or two then I don't have them for a month or two, so I don't think I will have any...
  21. Thanks so much. And yes, these were a couple days ago on my cell phone so not the best photos, but I have quite a large blister on my right had middle knuckle, and a small one on the left hand middle knuckle. I also have formed a few larger blisters on a couple fingers and some small red bumps all around the other areas, as well as my elbows and toes. And...
  22. I would like to hide my information in my profile (address, phone number, etc..) is this possible?
  23. I didn't see this board when I joined yesterday, but someone on here mentioned it so I decided to come over here! I will post my EXTRA LONG post from the other board with my background, as I haven't been diagnosed yet, and include photos of my hands. Okay, lets just start from the beginning. I have had diarrhea issues for the last 3 or 4 years (along...
  24. Sorry about that disgustingly large photo lol. I didn't know it would show up so big!
  25. My clotting disorder hasn't been confirmed yet, I will need to wait until my next blood test but it may not be an issue. As for the book, I will definitely look into that! I will also ask about that test. Thank you so much
