  1. My DD had her Endoscopy today and it went perfect! I was so nervous and it was absolutely nothing! She did great! They gave her a teddy bear and a HUGE orange popsicle. The unknown is so scary! Thanks to everyone for your supportive words.
  2. My girl goes in for her Endoscopy in 2 days to confirm Celiac. I had my blood work done last week and it all came back negative. I have no symptoms. My husband and son are having their blood work done tomorrow, both with no symptoms. If we all are negative blood work, we still may carry the gene, right? This is all so confusing. Why is she postive and...
  3. Thanks for the information. The biopsy is scheduled this week. She was gluten-free for 10 days and then went back on last week for the bx, gained all 5 pounds back in 3 days. She hasn't had any problems...feels great, she says. We will hopefully get confirmation soon so we can start the gluten-free diet.
  4. I Just thought of an idea! Make the best gluten-free pizza's and serve with the best gluten-free cookies and have all his friends over for a party. Educate his friends and make a list of all the gluten-free foods that he can have so they are aware. My 15 year old son would think this is ridiculous, but I guess it's the parent in me. Sounds fun! Good...
  5. My 11 year old daughter just diagnosed with Celiac ( blood only ) has told her friends and teachers everything, from blood work to doctor appts. to getting the biopsy done next week. She's very open with everyone. I have her looking up gluten-free recipes online, grocery shopping together and even comparing prices of the "old" food to the gluten-free food...
  6. Great information! I have been doing so much research and the help of everyone here, I doubt I would need a Nutritionist. Just a thought. Thanks again!
  7. Is it important in the begining to get with a nutritionist to get started on the gluten free diet? Are they well informed of what exactly is needed to keep healthy on this lifestyle? What supplements are needed for good vitamin absorbtion? And...are probiotics necessary?
  8. Thank you to everyone! I feel better already! It's nice to have a place to go like this. The support is incredible!
  9. My daughter started a couple months ago with headaches and light nausea only in the mornings. I had her tested for Celiac and it came back positive. I put her on somewhat of a gluten-free diet for 12 days and she lost 4 pounds. We went to see a GI yesterday and she's having an endoscopy and biopsy done next week. GI put her back on gluten and she's had...
  10. Just got back from the doc. Scheduled Endoscopy with biopsy on my daughter, she's 11. Is this procedure pretty simple? If anyone has any comforting words please share.
  11. I was told that the Ken's dressing packets are gluten free except for the Asian dressings.
  12. I too live in Central Florida and know of a Vegan bakery that has gluten-free baked items. They are baked fresh every morning. They are delicious!
  13. Are all Burt's Bees gluten-free?
  14. Baked gluten-free Betty Crocker cookies and cakes yesterday. They are delicious. Served to house guests without telling them. They had a second piece. Very good!
  15. I didn't realize Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ was gluten free. It has tamarind and natural flavorings in it. Are both of those ok? I'm still learning, so maybe I'm mistaken. I thought I read somewhere to be careful with tamarind and natural flavorings?
  16. I called the manufacturer that makes my daughter's Vyvanse to ask them if the capsule is gluten free. She explained to me that the ingredients seem to be gluten free, but the company hasn't officially tested this capsule to be gluten free. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Thank you.
  17. With all the research I am doing I haven't seen anyone mention Kens Dressings. A good friend of mine works for Kens and he mentioned to me that all of their dressings are gluten free. That's great to know. I will still check labels for sure!
  18. Yes, that's the list. There's no soups, as I'm fine with that. Thank you for having me check!
  19. I'm still new to all this gluten free information, so when I find things that seem normal I get very excited! I wanted to share with everyone. Doing my research I found that Campbells updated their gluten free list as of February 2012. The web site is www.campbellswithoutgluten.com. Most of the items are one's that I already use. I hope it's helpful for...
  20. My family has always used Aunt Jemima syrup. I called the company and they told me it was gluten free.
  21. Thank you so much for this thread!!!!!! We have missed mac and cheese!!!! My daughter said to take out the packet from Kraft and I told her I didn't think that would work...she was right!! I need to listen to her more often!!! LOVE THIS!!
  22. My daughter was diagnosed a month ago by a positive blood test that she is Celiac. She's 11 years old and has always been a wonderful eater. About 2 weeks ago I put her on a gluten free diet, to the best of my newbee knowlegde. She's adjusting very well. Since we are in the first stages of learning everything, I have not been 100% at keeping gluten products...
  23. My daughter recently had the blood tests done to determine Celiac. Eveything came back positive except the Immunoglobulin A Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody, IGA. It was 113, which is in the normal range. They are suggesting an endoscopy with biopsy. My Pediatrician is suggesting that isn't necessary and to just start her on a gluten free diet. Does...
