  1. I think that the best part is the energy. I also lost 25 pounds although when I am gluttened I gain back two to four pounds almost immediately. (it disappears when the reaction wears off) People have told me that I had more energy because I was exercising but I know that I could exercise because of the energy. And lack of pain. The stiffness in the joints...
  2. I recently called Oregon Ice Cream Company to check on the gluten free status of their ice cream. Cascade Glacier is sold commercially in three gallon tubs. My daughters camp uses it as does the ice cream parlor we visited recently. The label on the tub warned that it was manufactured in a plant that also uses gluten. Standard disclaimer. The company...
  3. Hi I use the Neutogena Shampoos. They have several. The "Clean" group is the general stuff (separate shampoo and conditioner and two types of each) but they also have a line of dandruff and special needs shampoos. Neutrogena provides a wonderful list of their gluten free items. Sorry I can't attach it as it is in my Personal PC and I just take it to...
  4. Sorry I did not see your post before and don't know when your trip is planned. Thought I would respond anyway just in case. If you will be staying in Blanchard then check out the Rocky Mountain Specialty Food in Hayden, ID. It is the only gluten-free specialty store in the region. Lots of us from Spokane drive over to shop there since they have more selection...
  5. I use Tillamook Yogurt but I don't know how nationally it is distributed. I also buy yoplait. There is another one that I just heard about that actually has the gluten free label on the package but I can't remember the name. As far as I know Dannon has always contained Gluten in some of the flavorings.
  6. I always use Banana Boat products.
  7. Moonunit Glad to hear that you are feeling better. I too had diagnosis of Crohn's but in my case they went from Crohn's to Ulcerative Colitis to Ulcerative Proctitis (sp?) What I don't have is a diagnosis of gluten intolerance but since I feel 100% better when I stay off the gluten even the lack of biopsy results won't convince me otherwise. Personally...
  8. Hope this is not too late to chime in to the discussion. I think your informant was only partially correct. Of course celiac is genetic. Yeast intolerance is I believe genetic as well. (or at least the propensity toward it) From what I have read in some people the candida reaction often comes first before the celiac is triggered. The wrong bacteria in the...
  9. If the yeast is the issue some of the following have helped to reduce the effects of yeast ingestions. Acidophilis Garlic Oil of Oregano (concentrated, expensive, sometimes hard to find, but just need a drop) I have been using two gluten-free and yeast free breads from Kinnikinnick out of Edmondton, Alberta, Canada Open Original Shared Link They...
  10. How do you ease your symptoms when you have been accidentally glutened? Are there vitamins, minerals, OTC drugs or certain foods that you have found to be helpful in easing symptoms of gluten ingestion after being gluten-free? My symptoms tend to be IBS related, gas, water retention, stiffness in the joints and severe brain fog. This last weekends...
