I'm a children's librarian by day/writer by night. I just got diagnosed with Celiac in Feb. 2012. I'm a former carb-aholic trying to figure out what the heck I am doing.
I've been married since June 2008, no kids but a dog that is definitely treated like a child. I make jewelry and crochet. I want to run a 5k, but that would involve actual running.

I am pretty sure the Yes To line is gluten free (Yes to Carrots, Yes to Cucumbers). There Web site says most of their products are gluten-free except a few conditioners, and they are available at Walmart and Target pretty cheaply. Plus, they are mostly natural ingredients, so it doesn't feel too chemically. Another great brand is Kiss My Face, but the don... -

I figured they were just trying to cover themselves from any potential liability. But the bigger issue I have with them is how the information varies depending on what customer service rep. you talk to. Not long ago, I was told their caramel was safe. Now it's not? I think I may be safe with straight-up iced beverages, but man, will I miss their flavored... -
I hear ya. I am only a little more than a month in, and I feel like it was easier in the beginning. Maybe just hitting a rough patch? I won't lie, there have been times I have burst into tears in the past week over not being to have something that everyone else is having. Seeing as I am a fairly well-adjusted adult and not a toddler, this is a bit off-putting...

Hi all, just thought I would share what I learned today - I called the Starbucks Customer Help line to see about a caramel macchiato, and the rep told me that the only thing that can be guaranteed as gluten free is the wrapped Tazo tea bags. Hi everyone! I was just diagnosed this past week with Celiac, and I have to say, reading all of your great posts have really helped me to get informed and even relieved about the diagnosis. It seemed really overwhelming at first (but then you all already knew that ). Hope I can be of help to "newbies" eventually too!
