  1. I have dermititis herpetiformis and I take dapsone to control that skin condition while I am on the gluten-free diet.
  2. I just met with a Gastro doc and he said that the biopsied rash and the bloodwork showing antibodies prove with 99% accuracy that I have dh - indicative of celiac disease. According to the dermatologist, GI and dietician, gluten is the only thing that I could be allergic to. I've done a lot of reading and have never seen iodine mentioned. But then again...
  3. I was recently in the Breadsmith in Highland Park and I saw - clear as day! - a RODENT! I went in last Friday (6/17) and was going to buy some of their gluten free bread and saw a RAT! I've already called the Lake County Health Dept. and they are going to send a sanitarian in. YIKES!
  4. I've only been gluten-free since the beginning of April...still learning!
  5. This is my 3rd restaurant attempt since my dx in April. The waitress was helpful and the restaurant goes the extra step to sent the manager out to double check what it is you can and cannot eat. I had chopped steak and a baked potato - yum! Nice to know there's a place not too far from home and not too expensive. L. Woods is also a Lettuce Entertain You...
  6. My husband and I would like to start trying but I'm concerned that I'll be MISERABLE when I'm pregnant if I can't take my dapsone. Right now, I'm only on 50mg a day and it works in conjunction with the gluten-free diet. I'm going to ask my ob/gyn about it but it seems that many docs don't understand about celiac disease... Does anyone have any experience...
