  1. Beverly How did you get your insurance to cover it? did you work directly with Enterolab and then submit a claim.? Brenda
  2. Kati No blood tests. and now that I've been gluten-free for two weeks they would be skewed right? I'm going to try to find a way to do the Enterolab testing so that I don't have to be eating gluten. so frustrating! Brenda
  3. GRRRRR! i just got a call from the nurse at the Dr.s office. She said that the biopsy came back normal and that I do not have Celiac's. The results from the Gastric Emptying scan came back that I have Gastric Parisis (stomach does not empty on time) the answer to that is to put me on Zelnorm, which I started about a week after my EGD test (which I went...

  5. WOW! I never thought of contributing this to celiac disease but I've had it as long as I can remember. Hopefully now that I'm gluten-free it won't happen ever again!
  6. I'm cruise'n on August 14th. I mentined at the time of booking that I needed a gluten-free diet but I guess I need to follow up with the cruise line - I booked throught a discount website. I'd love to hear any tips and advice you have. Thanks, Brenda
  7. I had my EGD yesterday. Doc didn't say much other than the results would be available in about two weeks and that my Espophagus (because of Reflux) and Small Intestine were very inflamed. When my mom (who took me) asked about the probablity of Celiac he would only say that it was very possible. When she told him that we were starting a gluten-free diet...
  8. Holly It's really not that bad, I had my EGD done yesterday. The worst pain was the IV, I'm not a big fan of needles and I've been able to get over blood draws but the IV hurt, nothing unbearable but just uncomfortable. the worst of the proceedure was the stuff that they spray in your throat to numb it. It tastes nasy - the nurse warned me and she...
  9. that sounds like a good plan. Even if the tests came back neg, If excluding gluten from my diet makes me feel better I'll stick with it. I'm tired of being sick and feeling yucky all the time.
  10. Good suggestion to sit at the bar, they are less likely to go away and forget about you! Thanks everyone!
  11. Did they suggest that you start a gluten free diet? I know I can't cut out gluten until after the test, but if there is any way cutting out gluten would make me feel better, I'm very eager to start.
  12. For those of you who've had an endoscopy/biopsies done, can yout tell me how long it took to get the results back?
  13. It's so cool that they finally have to list that stuff. Sure will take the guess work out of grocery shopping.
  14. Thanks Dessa. I am certainly doing a lot of research and reading. It's exciting (that I may have found the answer and can finally do something) but daunting, Gluten is in everthing. The obvious things seem easy enough to replace or cut out but it's the hidden things that are hard to keep up with. Eating out will be the biggest change. Right now I eat...
  15. Do you have to ask for a special menu? or are the items marked on their regular menu? I LOVE PF's so I would be so excited that I could still eat there.
  16. Hi all! I've had various digestive issues for over 6 years now. Mainly diagnosed as GERD. In the last year or so my symtoms in addition to reflux have increased. My Dr. suggested that Celiac might be the cause of my increased symptoms. I have to have an EGD (Endoscopy) done for the GERD to biopsy my esophogus so he said he'd biopsy my small intestines...
