  1. I hate to ask, but circumstances changed and now i may be without a ride this coming monday. my husband is supposed to do it but he may not be able to because of work. I am a bit leary to ask strangers, but if none of my friends can do it then i am out of luck. i am getting a colonoscopuy/endoscopy so i don't know how long the whole thing is. I might be able...
  2. I wanted to follow up with you. My labwork all came back "normal", however my TSH was a little too high for my optimal functioning. (If that makes sense) I assume it is because my digestive problems have worsened this year. The dose for my thyroid meds have been consistent for the last couple of years, so for it to change means that I'm not absorbing it as...
  3. I was googling nutrition deficiencies that cause a craving for eggs with runny yolks and kept coming across biotin as one of the nutrients. So I googled biotin and came across a site that described it. Under different diagnoses (i believe that was the name of the category) it listed Iga and Igg deficiencies. I've suspected I have that and that's why my...
  4. Thanks for all the support. He really is a self-centered jerk, and I know I need to leave. It's just a matter of getting up the courage to do it. I've left before and thought it would be easier should I have to leave again. Not so. It's just as hard as before. At least this time I won't go back. I made the concious decision last time that I would only go...
  5. Do any of you have an unsupportive spouse/partner in regard to you being gluten free? My hubby is awful about it. He thinks the nutritionist I saw put crazy ideas in my head, and that he knows better than the doctors. I am in the process of getting tested. I was learning to eat healthier and changing to a whole foods diet when I discovered my digestive problems...
  6. Thanks for your suggestions. I will keep those handy when I call on Monday. Go figure, I got my results in the mail Friday night when they are closed. Do I need to be eating gluten with any of those? I went gluten-free when my primary doc diagnosed me. Since she did so without having the bloodwork to confirm, I sought this second opinion. The one test he...
  7. Thanks for the suggestion! Yah, anything >2.0 for a TSH wipes me out. I even have a hard time in the upper 1's, but my endo is hesitant to increase my meds when I'm that close to the bottom because it will cause my number to drop way below the bottom level.
  8. I got my results from the bloodwork that my GI doc ordered. I had previously only had Ttg tested, coming back at <1.2 which is normal. The GI doc said he was going to check a few things, one of them being for Iga deficiency. Does it go by any other name in the labwork? Am I missing something here, or did they not test it? C-Reactive Protein, Quant ...
  9. So, I had my appointment with Dr. O'Reilly on Friday. The entire staff at the Maplewood location of MNGastro was amazing. I have gotten so used to doctors talking down to patients like they are above us and they make decisions about our healthcare. Everyone here talks like your equal, or your partner. It was so nice to have someone work "with" me to find...
  10. Thanks for your reply. I did tell them when I scheduled the appointment, but I will be sure to make it clear with the doctor. Over the years I have found my "gut brain", as my holistic nutritionist calls it, to be very accurate. Seeing a new doctor always makes me a little nervous because I have had such a hard time finding one who will actually listen to...
  11. Based on the responses to my first post in these forums with you wonderful people, and my own gut feeling (no pun intended), I decided to seek a second opinion on my celiac diagnoses. In my other post I had said that my primary doctor only tested my metabolic panel and TTG. The panel was normal, and the TTG was <1.2 I believe. I have been doing my own...
  12. Hi everyone, I'm new here and was hoping to get a little input on my test results and diagnosis. After going to a holistic nutritionist to improve my overall health, we discovered that I am gluten intolerant. I went to my doctor to get tested for celiac disease. I know I am at an increased risk due to already having hashimoto's disease. I have a list of...
