I am gluten-sensitive and on a gluten-free diet but I also have a problem with hypoglycemia (post-prandial hypoglycemia) so I have to be really careful not to eat too many carbs, especially in the morning.   2. Did you feel a lot better gluten-free? I can't believe that the doctor said that about 'not eating bread' since gluten is in so many things...It does seem that doctors are pretty dumb when it comes to celiac disease. I was told that I didn't have celiac from the blood test but I am remaining on the gluten-free diet because I feel like a totally different...
  3. I just had the blood test. I never heard anything from the doctor. I had to call them. When the nurse returned my call, she said, "There wasn't any sign of the antibody in 2 out of the 3 tests, so it doesn't look like you have the disease." If you keep having problems, we'll have you go in the do the test when they go into your belly (the endoscopy)....
  4. Yes, I agree--if she feels better off the gluten--have her stay off the gluten. I am going to be tested for celiac disease later this week, but no matter what the results are, I am staying gluten-free, because I feel like an entirely new person gluten-free. The doctors don't always have all of the answers--no doubt over time they will come up with better...
  5. I'll let you know after I have blood tests later this week. I was borderline for hypothyroidism for a few years, then it became worse in January and I was put on a low dose of medicine for it. My thyroid levels are being checked later this week along with a test for celiac disease--which I am pretty sure I have. My uncle was diagnosed with celiac sprue...
