  1. And then, last night, I had the bright idea of ordering the $10 Dinner Box from Pizza Hut with my friend...at least I slept it off. Spring break can't come soon enough! I would go to the health center at my school, but if they gave me a referral, it would be very difficult to get there since I don't have a car. It's easier to just do it all at home, especially...
  2. I'm not a big breakfast eater to begin with, and my classes, for the most part, are early in the day, so I usually don't eat until after I'm finished with class anyway. I guess that's a good thing.
  3. Thank you. I will be making an appointment with my GP when I go home for break, and hopefully I can get things cleared up.
  4. Ugh...I made the mistake of having a roll and granola this morning...I've been feeling super sick since a few hours after that. I just want to feel better!!
  5. I went to the doctor a few months ago, completely unrelated to my issues with gluten, and I found out that I'm Vit D deficient. Then when I started researching celiac disease/GI more, I saw that it is common to have deficiencies such as Vit D along with it. Hmm...
  6. It is pretty awful feeling sick all the time. And since most of the time I buy and cook my own food, I can control my diet almost 100%...so what a doctor says won't really affect me too too much (unless celiac is confirmed -- then obviously people will take me more seriously).
  7. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I didn't have enough support from my parents the first time around to see if it really made a difference. They pretty much refused to take me grocery shopping or make gluten-free food for me to eat. As I said though, now, I live in an apartment and buy and cook my own food most of the time, so I don't have to rely...
  8. I've noticed, for a long while now (about 2 years), that whenever I eat things with any real amount of gluten, I feel terrible not long after. My symptoms include: - Headache - Fatigue - Stomachache/nausea - Bloating - Gas/burping - Vit D deficiency (found out from a blood test) I know that these are typical symptoms of gluten intolerance/celiac...
  9. I don't have any advice, but I can say that I understand. I don't drink much, and that is far from the norm at my school. Since I go to a small school in a not very large city, there is a very large drinking culture. Most people drink at least 2 days a week (Friday an Saturday), and many people also drink on Thursday as well. It's because there simply isn...
  10. One of my best friends was diagnosed with Celiac during our freshman year of college. At my school, you can't live off campus unless you live at home with your parents, and you can't live in an apartment until your junior year. My friend made it work by having a refrigerator (mini one) in her room along with a microwave. And the dining hall was extremely...
  11. I'm not diagnosed, but I am symptomatic. I get headaches, nausea and fatigue...and depending on how much gluten I have, the reaction can start within an hour and stay with me for up to a day.
