  1. I'm having my first reaction since starting gluten-free diet after Dx and I do want to die. Will this wanting to die possibly last 3-5 weeks? Oh, say it isn't so! How long did it take you to be able to determine what the offending substance was so that you could begin tracking reaction times?
  2. I am right there with you, yesterday and today . . . my gut and my low back are hurting so badly I just want to die. The two things I ingested that i'm now questioning are a bowl of chili I thawed and ate on Saturday night (which I made (checking all ingredients for gluten-free), ate a bowl without incident, and froze) and some Gas-x taken yesterday around...
  3. I don't know if this could have anything to do with it, but you mentioned you are still breastfeeding (good for you!) . . . . what is your baby eating other than breastmilk? If it contains gluten, could you be absorbing that? I'm really new (Dx'd 2 weeks ago) so this may be a crazy thought . . . .
  4. I have just been Dx'd with celiac. My tummy has been so upset for several months that I just quit taking my vitamins. Based on the celiac Dx, I probably wasn't benefiting from them anyway. Which brings me to my question . . . how long should I wait to start taking them again? They say it could take my old bod 2-3 years to repair itself. Is taking supplements...
  5. I hope your iron infusions are going well. I had the first try iron infusion around 2005 - had an anafalactic (sp??) response to the test dose, BP dropped to 20/40 and they nearly lost me - it was the kind of iron that takes awhile to infuse. So, I didn't have that infusion. In May of 2007, I went for another try because there is another formulation...
  6. Thank you all for your responses. I had to go to the dr. yesterday because I have the respiratory crud. I mentioned the sores in my nose to her and she said they could be celiac-related. She told me to use neosporin just inside the nostril, which I am starting. I am a bit anxious to see what the antibiotic she prescribed does to my tummy over the course...
  7. I just received my Dx last week and have been gluten-free for 7 days . . . thankfully, the pain in my gut has subsided. However, i noticed one of the symptoms of celiac is mouth sores. I don't have these, but i have been having chronic sores in my nose for months. Does anyone else have this? Do these issues resolve themselves as the body heals? In the...
