  1. I feel like I've asked this a million times but is there any other condition or issue, other than a gluten issue, that would cause a "positive" TTG IGG? (an infection, crohn's disease, etc). I just feel like I can never get a clear cut answer and am so frustrated.
  2. it wasn't DGP though, it was TTG which I can never find as much information on. They're sending me copies of the endoscopy report too, I don't know if I should get a second opinion. I feel pretty confident in my dr we're going to one of the top children's hospitals in the US for this. At the same time I know this is all fairly new so I have to think...
  3. My daughter's biopsies all came back normal so the GI said they've ruled out celiac, the only blood test that was elevated was TTG-IGG, everything else in the full celiac panel was normal. Why the high IGG then? I know this does not rule out gluten intolerance, should I still try her with a gluten free diet? I hate to make a complete dietary change...
  4. I'm awaiting endo results for my 5 year old, she went in on Wednesday. Mommy2krj, her symptoms and issues sound similar to your son's so I'm curious to see what we both find. Justa-just to clarify, the dr said there was inflammation? I hope this isn't a stupid question because I am new to all this as well but could the inflammation be due to something...
  5. I posted in another thread that my daughter's TGG-IGG was the only elevated test that came back, here's her complete report, we're doing an endoscopy on Wednesday because of the one abnormal result. I still don't know what to think: Deamidated Gliadin ABS, IGA 2 (range 0-19) Deamidated Gliadin ABS, IGG 2 (range 0-19) TTG-IGA <2 (range...
  6. Good questions, we have our endoscopy on Wednesday and I'm wondering the same things!
  7. Has anyone had only a positive TGG IGG in their celiac panel? If the TGG IGG is elevated does this mean there is already damage?
  8. thanks again. they did the DGP and EMA in the panel and they were in the normal range the IGG was the only one that was flagged.
  9. I didn't realize there were so many symptoms, I'm glad you were able to find answers for your children and help them feel better. One other thing my daughter complains about besides stomach aches is feeling nauseous, I don't know if that's a symptom but I guess we'll find out when she has the endoscopy. I just hate not knowing what the cause of all this...
  10. I got copies of my daughter's blood work this weekend so it looks like the range for TGG IGG was 0-5 and she was 25 the first time she was tested and 23 the second time, anything over 9 says "positive." I'm still confused ,with a normal IGA can this be celiac? I'm still waiting to hear back from the hospital to schedule the endoscopy so hopefully that will...
  11. My 5 year old is in the process of being tested for celiac disease. We are scheduling an endoscopy, hopefully for the end of June. The only issue she has is chronic abdominal pain, she has been complaining about it for about 5 months on a regular basis. It's hard to figure out what it feels like (nausea, cramps, gas etc) being only 5, she still has a hard...
  12. it is confusing and every time I think I get it I come up with more questions! what else could cause intestinal damage?
  13. thanks again for the information. I actually just called to get a copy of the labs and I'm waiting to hear from the hospital this week to schedule the endo. I'm hoping to do it before the end of the month. I guess they just don't know until they look, I've been looking online about just the IGG being elevated and keep seeing conflicting information, some...
  14. Thanks for the replies! Caroline- it helps to hear that you had the same issue (just stomach aches, because I feel like everything I read about this has a huge list of symptoms and my daughter just seems to have the abdominal pain), do you think you actually had the milk and egg allergy or do you think it was celiac disease all along? nvs-I don...
  15. My daughter has been complaining of abdominal pain, just about every day, for 5 months. We have been seeing a GI and all of her blood work has come back normal except for her TTG-IGG which was at 25. The dr said celiac disease is suspected if it's over 100 but 25 is still elevated. She is also not IGA deficient. Other than that all other tests have been...
